"Workmanship exceeded my expectations. It was nice to be able to work with the owner on the design concept and his guidance on color and material selection. They truly made my vision to modernize this home and turned it into the nicest home on the street."

"Legacy did a fantastic job. It was a small part of the garage I wanted enclosed and accessible from inside the home and it looks like it was originally built with the home. I was very impressed with the attention and detail they gave to this project. It was a small one so I didn't expect a contractor to give it much attention but they did. Stayed on schedule and first rate workmanship. I am definitely hiring them again."

"<p>This is the 2nd time I've used Home Sweet Home.  I bought a two room deal for painting; we have very high ceilings and lots of wood trim, and we expected to pay a little more than the $375 for that, which is totally fair.</p> <p>They did a great job.  We estimated it would take 2-3 days, and instead it took 1.  They purchased our paint for us through Sherwin Williams, even though the color was from Benjamin Moore.  They passed along their significant savings on the paint to us, and we got it at their cost at no upcharge.</p> <p>We also had a small project from another contractor that needed cleaning up.  Former contractor laid a fence chainwall (concrete), but did not bother to clean up the concrete overspill into our neighbor's yard, which really disappointed me.  The extra concrete made it hard for them to cut their yard (we were so embarrassed).  Home Sweet Home took care of that clean up, no problem.</p> <p>I highly recommend Home Sweet Home and won't hesitate to use them again.</p>"

"I always use Home 360 for all my home and appliance repair needs. Most recently I called for a painter to paint all the trim on my home. Mike Edwards did an excellent job! My estimate for the work was reasonable and he was meticulous about every step of the process. His attention to detail was beyond my expectations. The job was perfect! I will definitely ask for Mike the next time I need a painting contractor."

"Our porch swing fell down while we were in it one evening (it had been improperly installed), and Will repaired it. He installed new hardware, gave the swing new chains, and made sure it was well anchored into the joists overhead. He was personable and totally reasonably priced, and did a great job. We would absolutely hire him again if he's free – he was building his own house and expecting a baby, so he was pretty busy for the immediate future ! <br />"

"I had several small home repairs done by this company including some drywall repair/painting, plumbing fixtures, and several minor electrical repairs. The work performed was high quality and the price was more than fair"

"This was a while back. They were so phenomenal that we had to give them kudos. We moved into our house nine years ago and we probably used them in the first year that we moved in. We had a home office and we needed one done very quickly. We got three bids. They were not the lowest but were in the middle. We have had construction people at my house before. They showed up when they said that they were going to. They called us the day before. They cleaned up after themselves. They closed in a room for us and put plasters. If we ever have any additional work to be done they are the people that we would call. They were very professional. After they did such a good job with our office we had them build a specialized cabinet for our den. We had carpet on our staircase and we had them replace it with hardwood floor. They were fabulous. It cost $6500 for adding our office and my husband did all the electrical work as he was an electrician. We had a huge space underneath our staircase which was empty and they built a specialized custom cabinet that cost $2000. We don't remember as to what the stairs cost because we bought some of the supplies and we don't remember as to what that was. He had a carpenter that came in and did the stairs. Our stairs were at very strange angles. A lot of people would not even tackle it and they were giving us prices to do the stairs that were way up there. Most of them did not want to do it. He did it and we were very impressed. They came in and did it. They even stained it and everything. It probably took them a week as they specialized each one of the boards to fit on the stairs and we were very impressed with that. They were punctual. They were very neat. We were comfortable with the people that they sent over here. You would always want to be comfortable with the people that would be sent over when you have people working in your house. The secretary would call us in the afternoon and tell us the name of the people that would come over, what they would do and when they would come over. They would be there around that time to do whatever they were supposed to do. The work was very professional. We have worked with people in the construction business before and we had very bad results. We could hardly end up doing the stairs. We had a flooring person doing our stairs. The person that was working on our office pulled me aside and told me that he did not know as to what he was doing. He told me that it was not the way to do that. My husband got home and I said that to him. He looked at it as he had worked in construction many years ago and said that it was a terrible job. They did not tell that to me in front of that person but pulled me to the side and said it. We ended up hiring them after we realized that the other person did not know as to what he was doing. We ended up calling them in. We have had bad experiences. So, we were very impressed about how they came in and finished the job. We received three bids. They were neither the lowest nor the highest but we were very comfortable with the bid that they gave us at the time. If we had known how well the work that they would do then it was good. You would be wondering if it would be somebody that would take three months to do a small project but they came in and knocked it out. The construction people usually never come when they say that they are going to. We don't know if they over book themselves or what it is. They would say that they would be there on Monday but they don't show up. You end up calling them and leaving messages. You would hear back from them on Tuesday that they would be there on Thursday and would show up in the middle of the day on Thursday. They would have your floor torn out and you would not know when they were coming back. These people would be here first thing in the morning. The people that did the drywall showed up at 07:00. It was a father and two sons. They came in and did the drywall. They had to let it dry before they put another coat. They came back the next morning at 07:00 or 07:30 and put the second coat on. We knew that they were coming as their office would let us know. They came out on three mornings between 07:00 and 07:30 and finished it. They were in and out of here in thirty minutes. We would absolutely use them again in the future without any doubt. If we have any other projects then they will be the first people that we would call."

"Scott Allen and his crew were here at 7AM the first day ready to start work. They were all professional and courteous. I am extremely pleased with the work that was done. Scott was helpful and accessible. He always took my calls and answered my questions. He was also regularly on site. The crew obviously took pride in their work. I had one cabinet I never used and didn't like. They remodeled it, and now it is very handy. They all were willing to work with me and talk things out; for instance, when I was not sure what type of light to put up in the kitchen. We discussed it and they gave me several ideas. It seemed to me as if we were all working as a team. Remodels are difficult, but Scott and his crew helped to make this one run smoothly. The result is that my home has been transformed. The remodel took about 3 weeks, which is what Scott told me from the beginning. I had flooring installed by another provider and Skilled Contractors returned after that to install the molding and do touch-ups. I am very happy and would definitely recommend Skilled Contractors to anyone contemplating remodeling their home. <br />"

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Geismar, LA

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
