"Tom and Steve did an excellent job on our master bath remodel.  They were always on task.  Stayed with the job.  Showed up at the same time every day.  They made great efforts to keep our carpeted stairs clean as they went up and down.  They did a good job protecting our hardwood floors as well.  Their work was great.  Everything looks great.  The tile work is excellent.  The finish work is excellent.  They stayed on contract.  Because their bid was so close to the actual work to be performed, there was very little overage as far as cost went.  I felt secure with them in the house.  There have been a couple VERY SMALL things that have come up since they completed the job which is totally to be expected.  They came promptly to remedy the situation at no extra charge.  I would and have recommended them to other friends. <br />"

"We asked our plumber if he could recommend someone to do the above work. He recommended C and V Contractors, and gave me the owner's phone number. I contacted Clyde, and he came out and looked at what needed to be done, and gave us a price, which we thought was very reasonable. <br /> Chapman's Legacy Plumbing was coming to our house on 11/10/14 to remove the kitchen sink, and he and Clyde coordinated the time, so things went smoothly. Clyde and the person he brought with him did an excellent job. The new melamine cabinet bottom under the kitchen sink looks great, and it's very stable. <br /> It was a pleasure working with with C and V Contractors. Clyde was friendly, answered/returned calls, and came out as scheduled for the estimate, and actual work. Very professional. <br /> We would definitely hire them again! <br /> <br />"

"Paul and crew were on time, and finished in a very timely manner and within the price quoted. He kept me updated on progress. He and his crew respected my personal belongings, placed protective covering on my carpet and even vacuumed when they were done!"

"I needed an interior dividing wall to split up my 3-car garage into a 2-car garage and a space for my woodworking shop. Besides constructing the wall, I needed more power outlets, rewiring of the overhead lights, addition of more ceiling lights, addition of a door, and 18" holes in the exterior walls for exhaust fans. Terri responded quickly to my inquiry She patiently discussed my requirements, including my schedule. Of the three contractors that I interviewed, Terri gave me the most confidence. The crew worked closely with me regarding major details - location and mounting of the exhaust fans, electrical outlets, switches, the door etc. The two craftsmen worked with me, asking and answering questions, and offering options on the construction. I am very pleased with the results! It exceeded my expectations. No shortcuts were taken, the quality is great. I would certainly hire SheCan2 for my next project."

"It went very well.  I called this company because they were part of a big deal offering the installation of a new door for $199.  Matt returned my initial call promptly.  We settled on his coming out the following Thursday.  He arrived a bit late - 9;30 instead of 9:00 A.M. but he did call to tell me he was running behind.  Once he arrived he looked at the work I wanted done and, once he was certain of the type of door I wanted he set right to work.  I did not have the door so he went off to buy it (I gave him a check to cover the cost of the door) returned with the hour and immediately began.  <br /> <br /> He removed the security screen, tore out the old door and door frame and installed the new door and frame.  This took a bit of doing as the house is old and a good bit of reshaping of the old opening had to be done. Once the door and frame were installed, he replaced the outside trim with redwood and reinstalled the deadbolt and doorknob making certain that the new door locked properly.  He then reinstalled the security screen.  The whole job took about five hours. <br /> <br /> When everything was done the door looked great both inside and out. It blends well with the house and, once painted, looks like an original door.  The new door does a much better job of insulating the room, is much more secure than the old door and fits perfectly  I feel I got very good value for my money, especially with the Big Deal on labor."

"Rob came out first thing in the morning to take a look at replacing our 1960's garage doors on our newly purchased duplex.  He responded quickly to my inquiry and he was prompt.  What I appreciated the most about Rob was that he suggested lower cost, practical options based on his years of experience instead of trying to oversell me on a product I originally called him to quote on.  Additionally, he had Drew back that same afternoon to replace the springs on one of our doors so at least we could begin using it (even without a motor).  Rob & Drew are the best! <br />"

FAQs for garage building service projects in Georgetown, CA

A well‑constructed, properly permitted detached garage adds between $12,000 and $36,000 to a home’s resale value. Buyers appreciate the secure parking, extra storage, and flexible workspace, so appraisers often bump the property’s value accordingly. The exact return depends on the garage’s size, finishes, and how well it matches the main house, but most homeowners see a strong ROI when the build meets local codes and passes inspection.

Yes—once it meets local building codes and you secure the proper permits, a detached garage can be converted into living space. Finishing the interior, adding climate control, and ensuring safe egress effectively increase your usable square footage, though it may not always count toward the official listing. Skipping permits can trigger fines and even force you to undo the work, so always clear plans with your city first.

Most homeowners policies cover a detached garage under the “other structures” provision, but coverage limits vary. Review your declarations page and ask your agent how much protection you have for separate structures. If the limit is lower than the garage’s replacement cost, you can raise it for a modest premium. Confirming the details now prevents headaches if you ever need to file a claim.
