"Called on a Friday at 4:30 pm for a suspected broken spring. Bob arrived within a half hour to help us free our trapped car. He happened to have the spring sizes needed on hand so he replaced both springs right away. Awesome service and people!"

"Great work and it was nice they had my door size in stock so it was completed quickly within a couple of days. The only thing I wish was communicated up front was they donâ t haul the old garage away or provide options of how to dispose of it.. Now Iâ m trying to determine who I can have remove it."

"I required repair on a garage door and he came at 7:00 in the evening on the same day as my phone call. I was unable to close my garage because a cable rusted and broke. He was a very nice man and very professional! I didn't pay exorbant fees for same day service. He is very qualified and come to find out repairing garage doors is not the only thing he can do!"

"I called Joe Wilde Company to fix a broken spring on my garage door. Within an hour a technician showed up to assess the problem. When Richard Bourget arrived he assessed the problem of a broken spring. Richard was very professional and said he didn’t understand why there was only one spring on the garage door when it was installed. Richard weighed the garage door and said it was too heavy for one spring and suggested installing two springs for this door, which I had to agree with him. Richard worked diligently and professionally installing the springs and then adjusted the door. Richard is a great technician and very knowledgeable."

My garage door broke down at 9 PM on thursday night, Precision came out the very next day at 8AM to fix the problem. A great technician named Colin Horsch replaced my entire garage mechanism in an hour and fully explained how to operate the features. He was friendly and very knowledgeable. "The work was done quickly and efficiently. They were easy to work with and very professional. We used them when we first moved in to replace the motor on our garage door. We called them back for the door replacement because we were very pleased with our initial experience. <br />"

FAQs for garage door installation and replacement projects in Germantown, WI

Yes, you can replace just one panel if your door is sectional and the damaged panel is available. Most modern residential garage doors have four to six horizontal panels that can be individually replaced. However, finding an exact match becomes challenging for older doors or discontinued styles. For doors over 15 to 20 years old or with multiple damaged panels, a complete door replacement might be more practical and visually consistent.

Minor dents or cosmetic damage can often be repaired without replacing the entire panel, potentially saving you money. However, if the damage affects the door's operation, security, or structural integrity, replacement is often a better investment.

For extensive damage to multiple panels or older doors where matching is difficult, full door replacement might be more economical in the long run than multiple individual panel replacements.

Your garage door panel might be repairable if the damage is superficial and doesn't affect functionality. Small dents in aluminum panels, minor scratches, or cosmetic issues often don't require full replacement. However, replacement is often necessary if the panel is warped, has large holes, shows extensive rust, or affects how the door operates. A professional garage door technician can evaluate the damage and recommend whether repair or replacement offers the best value and durability.
