"A regular furnace and air conditioning maintenance check on Wednesday, January 13 revealed that the heat exchanger was failing on our 17-year-old furnace.  There were other problems as well.  The condition was unsafe and we decided to replace the furnace and the air conditioning unit which had been installed at the same time, to take advantage of financial incentives and improved efficiency.  We've dealt with Homer Nine for many years, and they were willing to install the furnace immediately, on an emergency basis.  The day after the furnace check, January 14, they customized the sheet metal ductwork and installed a new furnace.  They came back the following Monday, January 18, they returned and installed a new air conditioning unit.  On every occasion, they were punctual and courteous, and described what they were doing.  They cleaned up completely.  This is why we've dealt with them exclusively for many years - a very professional company which treats its customers very well.

Home Crafters are very professional.  They were the first, after I had called 20-25 roofers, to actually call me back and give me an estimate.  They told me that they would not be the cheapest but they would do the work by the end of the year like I wanted and do a professional job. 

The main roof of the house had cracked shingles and looked ragged.  There were no leaks nor evidence of water leakage inside.  It had 2 layers of shingles on it.

Their estimate included:
- removal of existing material to roof decking,
- inspect deck and replace boards if required for an extra charge,
- Install 30 lb roofing felt,
- install 30 linear feet of ice and water sheild,
- install all new flashing,
- install new 30 year shingles,
- Install new aluminum fascia in front,
- install new aluminum gutter in front.

Total cost was to be $ 8225.00. 

The main reason I did not hire them was that I could not get over the fact that installing the gutter added $ 900.00 to the total cost. I thought gutter installation should have been cheaper.  It turns out that if I would have hired them I would have had the work done by December like I wanted instead of January-February.

I would definitely give these guys a chance in the future. They seem like real professionals.

"The job was to be done in two days, and the three men who arrived in the morning finished the job in one day. The removal of the one chimney included the replacement of "felt" and new shingles close to the color of existing shingles on the roof. The other chimney is in use because it is needed for the hot water tank. A new 35ft liner was installed. The mortar joints were grinded out, repointed and waterproofed. A new crownsaver/seal and cap was installed on the chimney. The chimney to the hot water tank was an ongoing problem with moisture on the walls in one room for years and the house is close to 85 years old. They did an outstanding job and cleaned up the bricks, etc from the chimney that was removed."

"After hearing scratching noises, I found out that I had raccoons hanging out on my third floor roof and living in chimney. I checked Angie's List and called Critter Control. My first point of contact was with Jessica, who listened to my problem, then clearly explained their process and the possible costs involved. She emailed a contract to me immediately, and after providing them with some information, Steve and Bryan came out right away to assess the situation and make recommendations, which I accepted. They came by the house everyday to monitor the situation, and after the critters were gone, they installed 2 new stainless steel chimney caps, along with a dryer vent. "The majority of it went well. The crew and Rick worked the project and cleaned up afterwards One of the skylights still leaks and a trim piece was left off of the front roof. It is still not finished even though we requested several times that they put the piece on. It's only about a 4 foot piece but it remains unfinished. Picture is available."
