"Bob Cullen was referred to us by our plumber after we had a horrific experience with a general contractor. We had already purchased most of the materials for our full bathroom remodel, which were sitting in our dining room. Bob not only got us on his schedule as soon as possible, but he truly took away all of our anxiety during a very stressful time. It was immediately evident upon meeting him that Bob is the consummate professional. He is extremely reliable and trustworthy. He explained everything to us, including different options and construction materials, in a very clear way. His price was very reasonable, and he was willing to do everything we wanted, including time-consuming cutouts in the shower. He was an excellent communicator, and kept us aware of the timetable during each phase of the project. He was so personable and easy to work with that it was truly a pleasure to have him and his assistant, Jesse, in our home. Everything was beautifully executed, and the tile work he did was absolutely fantastic. It is so refreshing to meet someone who is honest, talented, and has such pride in his work. We would never considering using anyone else as long as Bob is in business."

Although we had many challenges during the job, Anthony handled them all with flexibility. It was a true collaboration from beginning to end. Not only was he easy to deal with, but the work was done way above our expectations with a focus on attention to detail. He also made sure everything was cleaned up at the end of every day, even if I said not to worry about it. Overall, these guys went the extra mile and made a difficult job enjoyable for us. "My deck was in major need of a structural repair because it had safety issues. The deck is still in good overall shape so I did not want to tear it all down and start from scratch. After several attempts contacting other company’s, John was the only one who reached out to me and was willing to do this kind of repair. It is so sad that other companies are not willing to take on “smaller” jobs or at least with a fair estimate (I find they overbid for job they don’t want to do so you say no). But by no means was this a smaller job. John and his crew worked very hard to fix the problems and get the job done. John is very knowledgeable and dependable and I would highly recommend him. Thank you to John and his crew for making my deck safe and usable again!"

Replaced the whole roof,repaired front porch repaired the rear rain gutter, faceplate was riped off from the last snow storm and the damaged shingles over bay window. Did great work used high quality shingles and ice garden. I would recommend this business for any other work I would have done..."

"Doug was affable and punctual and gave us a reasonable estimate for the job. Unfortunately, we saw very little of him after that: his workers (also very friendly and punctual) openly admitted to us that they had very little idea about the project they were working on, that not much had been explained to them. It was difficult to communicate with Doug about design/issues that came up since that communication almost never happed in person, only via text, and it became clear that the project was not clearly thought out before being initiated (by us or by Doug, although we would have hoped that as the professional, he would have foreseen some of the issues that arose). Ultimately, we asked him to stop working on the project without its being completed after his team drilled into the basement concrete without covering vents or warning us to do so (he later told us he thought he would have been "smart enough" to foresee the preparation needed for him to install a drain in the basement), resulting in a thick layer of concrete dust covering all of our possessions throughout our whole home, necessitating hours of cleaning on our part. Since then, having found other non-Angie's List contractors to complete the unfinished work, every single one of them have offered harsh critiques Furko Construction's planning and execution, which is of course very frustrating for us to hear. My real critique though is not of Furko Construction, but of Angie's List: multiple times now we have employed a top rated contractor from Angie's List and that contractor has been (although all very friendly and prompt with estimates) a mistake. The contractors who have done good work for us have warned that Angie's List is deceptive in its ratings/reviews and that businesses can pay for the standing they have, corrupting the idea that good work leads to a good rating or prominent placement. I'm not sure what merit there is to this idea, but we will not be using Angie's List again after this experience. Furko Construction means well, but ultimately does not plan well, follow through, or take responsibility for mistakes."
