"I called on a Friday looking for a quote and they said someone would be out the next day. They called about 11:00 and said they would be there in about five minutes. They came by and gave me a quote of $125 and we scheduled it for Wednesday. They called about 10:30 and were out about 5 minutes later. They installed an oversized drop rod they made at their shop and decided the latch I bought was too flimsy and suggested I return it and get my money back as they did not open it. They then ran back to the shop and got a stronger one and installed that at no extra charge. I now have a working gate that is accessable from both sides."

"I thought I had not posted a review on Angie's List previously (I realize I was mistaken now), so I went in almost a year later and posted a positive review (dated 11/10/15).  On 11/20/15 (10 days later), I received an email from Tim (the owner?) with an invoice to the work they did (and a notation saying it was 1 year old!). No call, just an email with an invoice a year later.  I called them on 12/1/15 and spoke to a gentleman (I think Gary?) and asked that Tim called me back and confirm that no outstanding bill is on my account and that my account was paid in full a year ago when services were rendered.  No call back.  My positive experience turned negative very quickly.  I can only imagine that my positive review was the catalyst for them sending me a bill (a year later and a mistake on their part!).  If someone calls me back apologizing and confirming my bill was paid, I will change my review again but until then, it is ridiculous that I have to chase them (a year later!) to confirm I paid my bill a year ago.  Completely unprofessional. <br /> <br /> I found the company on Angie's List and called to see if they could help with a problem I was having with my front gate post sinking over time into the ground.  I think it was because the top of the gate post was missing when we moved in, and the rain/snow water that subsequently fell inside the post was making the ground soft and causing the fence post to sink down.  Chris was very helpful and asked that I email pictures over to him for a quick review.  After I did, he provided a quick response/quote and we scheduled the work to be done in the following days.  It was a small job, but I'm appreciative of the fact that they were responsive, quick, and he helped me solve the small problem instead of trying to sell me a new fence.  If at some point in the future we decide to replace our gate, we will definitely call them. <br />"

"Freeman Fence has responded to several emergencies I've had with my fence over the years. They know my greyhounds need a fenced yard, and when posts have rotted out or wind has blown fence sections out, they have been there, without fail, within about a day, sometimes less. "We hired Roman from Great Recover Construction after fielding multiple bids for our finish carpentry project. We replace every piece of trim in our vintage condo and installed new crown moulding, chair rail, and picture frame moulding. Roman also repaired and re-installed several pre-hung doors which had been installed improperly by a previous contractor, and caulked all of the trim work. He was one of the few contractors who responded promptly to our email request for an estimate and answered any follow-up questions we had before committing to a contract. His work was excellent quality - he took time to make sure each piece he installed was the best it could possibly be (not an easy task for a condo built in 1921) and was great at keeping us informed throughout the process. He also was great at finding creative solutions for any problems that popped up along the way. I plan on using him again in the future, and highly recommend him to others."

"Our house,built in 1944, needed many repairs: cracked exterior paint on the main house exterior boards, broken vinyl siding on the addition, back door stairs and landing displaced by tree roots posing a safety hazard, old and drafty windows. We wanted to have all these problems fixed by a professional and had other contractors come to give us their opinions and estimates over the course of last year, but Todor was the only one who carefully looked at all the issues, formulated a solution and made us confident that he is able do a good and reliable job. We had worked with Todor previously and found him to be relaxed, pleasant and very trustworthy in addition to a skilled professional. We consulted him from the beginning to the end pf the project. Todor had many good ideas that improved both the functionality and the beauty of the project.  For example he convinced us to use cement board to replace the broken vinyl exterior and he matched the color of the paint with that of the cement board so that the painted wood boards and the new cement boards are now almost identical and the house has more unity. He made extra effort to accommodate our wish to have more insulation under the exterior and under an overhang. In addition, whenever he found something unexpected, he showed us the problem and devised a solution.   <br /> The present project took place during the months of July and September, with an interruption due to the windows being delayed. Todor and his crew came on time every day and worked very hard, rain or shine. They took off the old brick and <br /> concrete steps, built a beautiful deck with two fixed benches, replaced vinyl siding, painted the rest of the house, and installed a huge patio door / 2 windows combo, other windows, exterior door and garage door. We are very happy with the results and the whole process, especially because we were hesitant about the details and were able to adjust them until the last moment. Todor?s work is characterized by an attention to small details of functionality, to future problems that he foresees and does prevent, to a stubbornness to do the things right, even with more effort. For example, he noticed that improper previous work had caused rotting of the boards around the exterior door and steps, and after replacing the boards he took a lot of care to properly install flushing around the deck, so that the water will have a good way to drain. We also noticed that he continuously teaches and corrects his crew. In conclusion, we are very happy with the results, will hire him again for future work and would confidently recommend him. <br />"

"I contacted Pete at the Fence Doctors Repair company on a Saturday morning regarding damage to our wood picket fence.  A utility truck had backed into our driveway, destroying a section of our fence that allowed for our dogs to run loose.  Pete not only acknowledged our issue immediately, he actually came out that same afternoon and did the repairs!  The fence is literally brand new, all painted and secure for our dogs.  <br /> We cannot recommend Pete highly enough.   He is incredibly responsive, he provides excellent service and high quality work, and is just a genuine, great guy to work with.    We will have Pete come back in a month and take care of some additional repairs and painting for our pergola, deck and rear privacy fence.   Pete also had a great suggestion to apply some light gray stain to a cedar wall feature built by our landscaper which was not weathering evenly.  This will not only add beauty to this feature but will help treat the wood.   <br /> If you want high quality work at competitive prices from someone you can trust, call Pete! <br />"
