"Ray Resnick and his son did a great job in a short period of time. I wanted an alarm system but, I didn't want to go with a large impersonal corporation. I like doing business locally so I looked on Angie's List and found Ray at L&R Security Systems.  I had  other estimates and was not impressed. Others wanted a lot of money but, only wanted to install "stick- on- the- wall" wireless systems. The layout of my property is such that wireless is not reliable because there are too many walls for the signal to go through. Ray and Ray Jr. hard wired the complete system. And that was no small fete as my house is stone and about 225 years old. In addition, they didn't try to sell me dozens of sensors. Other companies wanted to alarm every window, upstairs and down stairs. Ray took a practical approach and only installed what was needed to secure the perimeter.  He also installed hard wired fire and smoke detectors. No more having to change batteries every year. I am also happy with the alarm monitoring company Ray uses. During the first couple of weeks we set a lot of false alarms as everybody in the house was getting used to the system. The monitoring company always called back in less than a minute. That's a petty fast response time. Oh, I forgot to mention that this system also included a cellular backup which allows an alarm signal to be sent even if the power to the house is cut.   My wife and I are happy with the system. We feel the price was very fair. We recommend L&R Security Systems. As an added plus; Ray and his son are very nice people."

"The tech installed a new alarm system which is a more up to date system compared to my old . He also removed my old system. He also answered many questions and the taught me how to use the system - including how to use it remotely.

"The only negative is their estimate on how long it takes to install a new system properly. It is more time consuming than the instructions indicate. Nevertheless the equipment is fine, service superior and I would not even consider going with any other security system. "Have worked with Jeremy and Larry at 1st Security for a few months now and they're great. They're far more responsive than any other alarm company I've worked with and they're focused on meeting your needs, versus endlessly trying to get you to buy more services and sensors that you might not need. In the house I just bought some other alarm company had installed a window open/close sensor on a window that doesn't open - probably fooling the prior senior citizen owners to pay more for more equipment they didn't need. "Theo was amazing! I had talked with the alarm monitoring company (Moni) about the issue and they were going to send someone out to the house to replace a sensor, although they were doubtful that is what t it was. In the meantime, I decided to call ProTECHt, even though they had installed our system 3 years ago. I talked with Theo, the owner, on a Saturday and he talked me through some attempts to find out what was wrong. I insisted the noise was coming from the sensor and he, nicely, insisted it couldn't be. He took me through some tests, we deleted the sensor from the system through the keypad and even took it off the wall and put it in another room and, lo and behold, we were still getting these horribly loud beeps from the hallway! As it turns out, the beeps were coming from a carbon monoxide detector in the same hallway indicating the battery needed to be changed. How embarrassing! On Sunday, Theo walked me through reprogramming our system and all is okay now. I don't know of too many business owners who would be willing to spend time assisting a customer on a Saturday and Sunday, do you? Theo charged us a $50 service fee, only at my urging."
