"My kitchen sink faucet was leaking and needed to be replaced. I called Tony LaMartina because they are in my area and had a very good rating. The plumber came out and asked if I had a new faucet. When I didn't (I wouldn't have known what kind to get), the plumber said they did not have any faucets available and he would have to go buy one and it was going to cost more. He was back in a very short time. It only took him 30 minutes to put in the new faucet. After he finished , he told me the cost was $686 which was way more than I expected. I called the office twice to get a receipt to see why it was so much. I was told they do not separate their receipts between labor and materials. After talking to a couple of plumbers, I was told that amount was indeed way more than it should have been. I will never call them again."

"Had $10,000 in work done on a detached garage that included 7 piers into bedrock. Came with a lifetime, transferrable warranty. Now in the process of selling the home and the buyer is questioning whether there has been movement and also executing the assignment of warranty. No response to voice mails. Website no longer exists and no real activity on their FB website or Angie's list in the last two years. Are you out of business?"

"It went very well. They were able to schedule Jason the day after I discovered the leak. Jason called 10 minutes before he arrived as he said he would. He immediately analyzed the problem and determined he could repair the old toilet or I could get a net toilet for about $400 more. His price was exact, I just don't remember exactly what it was because I decided on the new one. This was about what others had quoted me for the toilet I wanted. Jason ordered the new toilet, and it was delivered in about an hour and a half. In the mean time Jason replaced the old turn off valve which didn't work, and then the toilet when it arrived. The job was completed as promised. Jason was a very contentious, thoughtful, and through worker. He even was thoughtful enough to turn my basement lights off when he was finished. I cannot go into the basement because of my knees."

"Beis Plumbing did an amazing job. They responded incredibly fast and were able to schedule me right away, which I really appreciated. The technician was professional, explained everything clearly, and finished the work quickly with great quality. It’s such a relief to have a plumbing company I can trust. I’ll definitely be using them again and recommending them to others."

"A plumber came to provide a quote on Wednesday and tested the all fixtures by running water, claiming the water is escaping through the gap in the shower door. I did ask him to test some more since the leak was not significant and consistent. He ran the water again... He only collected $90, which is what they told me on the phone, but he thought he should charge me more since he has done some work. We put a towel on the gap to trap the water but The leak SHOWED UP LATER AGAIN. I called back to ask for an immediate call back but they said it would be $300 minimum since it would be on the weekend. I decided to wait until Monday and on Monday they told me it would be Tuesday and they would charge me more if it is not plumbing related. I couldn't take any more work off so I had to cancel the service. Another company came over early morning to investigate again and they ran all fixture and cut the dry wall and finally found THREE trim nails had been shot into hot water pex piping in three locations in the master bedroom behind vanity. It was bad and my baseboard and dry wall are all molded. I just feel the plumber was unprofessional because there was not rust in the gap, the leak's location didn't match the gap, and all he did was run some water without even cutting the drywall to properly assess the leak and he only ran the cold water for some reason. Even though I accidentally turned on the hot water, the plumber said it wasn't necessary. The damage could be significant since the leak spread quickly after being touched, but they told me it would cost a minimum of $300 to fix, which should have been addressed properly from the start and No warranty on work."

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Glencoe, MO

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
