"I purchased an electric tankless and pre-filter/softener directly from the manufacturer and started hunting for a plumber to install it. I looked at our electric bill after 2 months (March-April) of using our Stiebel-Eltron E-tankless whole-house water heater unit, and the kW usage actually DECREASED from one year ago for those same two months. That’s right, there was no increase in our electric bill. As expected, our gas usage decreased. My wife was very worried because she often ended up talking to the plumber issuing the dire warnings and predictions about our silly misguided endeavor to get a tankless unit.
