They installed a new cartridge in the main shower line, which did not completely resolve the issue, so they also flushed out old hot water in the lines and reduced the water temperature to a reasonable temperature. For the second issue, they cleaned the drain line to the air conditioning pan in furnace, which I hope will make things better. They explained the next steps that would be needed in each scenario if the above interventions did not resolve the problems to my satisfaction, but were thoughtful about keeping costs manageable."
