"Peter Edwards from Palms Garage Doors provided exceptional service. He was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and transparent throughout the process. I appreciated that his estimates focused strictly on what was necessary, without any upselling. The company was highly responsive—scheduling the visit and completing the work much faster than expected. The pricing was very fair; I’m hopeful the quality stands the test of time and will update this review should any issues arise. "

"I have used the services of this wonderful person for THREE Garage Doors and he has come through for me 100 percent! One was a complete changeover to a new system, One was a "belt" that popped out of the rail and the other was an electrical problem that took him 10 minutes to figure out and nailed it. I can not even tell you how professional Gabe is, and I mean it with all my heart. I am a girl and my husband couldn't be available for Gabe's service calls so I was there and what a knowledgeable service tech he is. And equally as important, his price/s were VERY Fair. He doesn't take advantage of you and your ignorance of your garage door problem/s. He wants an ongoing service tech relationship with you so he can build his business with your referrals. And refer him I will! He's a "sure deal" people and an A+ and 5 Star professional~!!! Highly HIGHLY Recommend~!!!"

"Don not hire this company. They are illegitimate scammers. Fraudsters that steal your money. Kobi was my thief technician. Purposefullybroke the springs then charged me 300% of the normally quoted cost. Skylift garage door gets contracted by real door comapnies and then proceed to rip people off. Just google the number on their invoices, 866-747-7982 and you see all kinds of BBB scam/fraud alerts. They/he are criminals and I am actively pursuing litigation. The fact that Angi's list even has these people on their site is ridiculous."

"The result was they did not do the job. They missed diagnosed the problem . They charge much higher because they said I have a mechanical problem but there's not. I would not recommend this Service Provider."

FAQs for garage door opener repair or adjustment projects in Glendale, CA

Garage door costs range somewhat broadly, depending on the type you choose. However, you’ll also need to factor in labor costs, which vary from state to state and between pros.

A chain driven operator costs between $150 - $250. For a belt driven operator it is usually $160 - $450. A screw-driven operator is between $250-$500.

To keep garage door opener repair costs down, you should check that the whole apparatus is working normally on a regular basis. This means making sure that the tracks of your door are greased and fully operational, and that the door itself is in good condition.

Installing a new garage door opener runs from $250 to $500 at least. If your repair costs are close in cost to that range or if your garage door is 10 to 15 years old, you should probably replace it instead of repair.

However, it’s a better idea to fix your garage door opener if it’s less than eight years old or if repair costs are less than replacing.

Garage door openers usually last between 10 and 15 years. However, several factors contribute to how long your garage door opener can last. If you schedule regular inspections and practice proper care, you can maximize your garage door opener’s lifespan, saving money in the long run. As a general rule, practice the same care for your garage door opener as you would the door itself.

These tell-tale signs indicate your garage door is going bad, including:

  • Not closing or opening at all

  • The door reversing when you try to open and/or close it

  • Inconsistent opening and closing; more noise than usual (grinding, scraping, or banging)

  • Sticking or stalling when you try to open or close it

If you experience one or more of these signs, it’s time to call a professional garage door repair service.
