"This was an excellent experience.  Given the trickiness of replacing a sill, I wanted someone who had done this before.  They specialize in timber framing, so I hoped they would work out.

They started in removing the shingles to look at the current state, which was worse than I thought.  They then went in a supported the house from the basement to prevent further problems.  Then they started in on the replacing.

They kept me informed as the work went on, explaining what needed to be done, and asking for my input as appropriate.  When a stomach bug went through the family (it's a father-son company), they let me know via email as to their absence and when they'd be back.  The only minor nit I had was that their quote didn't include the dumpster and the building permit.  However, when the inspector required more information to approve the permit request, they talked to him quickly and straightened it out.

They had the tools they needed to get the job done quickly and safely.  They did a good cleanup, and restoration of the exterior of my house.  I wouldn't hesitate to use them again, or recommend them to a friend."

"We have used Classic Pro Contractors in the past and will continue to have David and his crew be our number one company to call with a painting and/or repair need. He got the work done on time, did a great job, and stayed in communication with us the whole time. He is definitely a person we will continue to use.

It went very well. It was just one person and he was a young fellow that they contract out. He did pressuring washing for us. He was very professional and very good. His machine broke so he got it fixed and did a little extra without charging. He was very personable, very good and thorough. They stayed with the price and that was a very good price. They really should have charged more. I really worked with them as far as time frame goes. I met with the owner the first time and then he looked at the job. The person that he sent out to do the job was very professional and very good. It was a new company (to me).

"Robert initiated contact after I purchased a big deal to find out what I needed done and to let me know that he would contact me again in the near future to schedule a date for the repairs.  He contacted me later to set a date, then showed up on time and did the repairs to my satisfaction.  I appreciate his follow-through and professionalism.  I ended up hiring him again for more repairs."

"I have lived in this house for 25 years, and the only project I truly feared was siding.  I have made LOTS of changes to the property  over time, but always stopped short of siding.  This was a scary project, but I signed-up because of Fine Finish Remodeling's reputation on Angie's list, etc.   Also, the siding REALLY needed to be replaced -- in some areas, it was practically held together by paint.  Other exterior improvements (roof, front door and garage door) were being done by other contractors, during the same time period.

-- Mark Stevens is owner / contractor of Fine Finish Remodeling.  He did an excellent job of communicating and moving this project along, and referring out to others as needed.  The supervisor,  Kevin Dunsworth was great, and the house shows that.

-- Delays happened, because they do.  The contractor had some issues. The weather was sometimes lousy.  PARR lumber delivered some of the materials to somewhere else, which stopped work for about a week.  Holidays happened. People had illnesses.   Siding work stopped while  the roof was repaired and replaced (2 days).  ETC.   In general, I was impressed to watch the changes take shape.  I believe it all moved along as quickly as it could.

--I was part of the problem too.  Two different garage door companies had volunteered their opinion that I could have one BIG garage door, rather than 2 smaller doors, if I wanted to do that.  It would be no problem, according to them.  I talked to Mark, about this, and he told me what could happen if the garage door men were wrong, and recommended I consult a  structural engineer first.  He gave me a name; I called; and the short version is a huge new beam was needed.  It took 6 men to lift that into place.  The final garage door outcome is perfect. Many thanks to Mark for coordinating the extra work my super-sized garage door required.

--Logistically, the siding was removed and replaced from sides and back of house first, leaving the street appearance somewhat intact until the end.  Hardie Plank siding comes with color, but the trim is just primed, so my family did a lot of painting in our garage, and other locations.  Kevin was kind enough to give warning when there was trim to paint for an inside angle, since that would have been nasty to do after it was installed.  I had one area outside the master bedroom that had always looked strange, for the way the old trim and siding met under the eaves.  I pointed that out, and Kevin fixed it with the new trim and siding.

--When the house was finished, it was slightly wider than it used to be, sufficiently that the downspouts no longer fit. Mark gave me the names of area gutter companies, and the first one came right out and made new downspouts and cleaned the gutters too for a great price.

--The house exterior is done, and it looks great-- and the street noises are much quieter, and odd drafts are gone.  My scary project turned out to be a good experience with a happy outcome."

"A spring on our garage door broke on a Friday afternoon so we could not get our car out.  I called Ever-Green because they had replaced the other spring several years ago.  They agreed to come out on Saturday (the next day) to make the repair.  Chris showed up on time Saturday and did a great job. I had him to replace both springs so they would wear out at the same time. He was a pleasure to work with and was very professional. He found a couple other issues with the door and fixed them at no additional cost. Would definitely recommend them.

It went OK.  They did the bare minimum of what they said they would do and the damage to surrounding plants and landscaping was minimal.  The repairs are holding up a few months later.  For an "A" rating, I would have expected them to provide some feedback about the other repair opportunities on the fence - after they were done, I realized there were several slats on the fence needing care (replacement) that I would have gladly had them do; however, they never communicated with me about this.  In general, scheduling was difficult - it took 4 tries to actually speak with someone in the office.  E-mail via Angie's List seemed to be more reliable.

The other communication with this company was unsettling - when I went back to ask them to do another section of fence a few months later when it had deteriorated further, they never called me back.  Then I got an e-mail from them via Angie's List saying I was on their schedule.  This was weeks after I had called them - enough time that I actually got bids, scheduled, and had quality work completed by another company for less!!  I'll be using that other company from here on out.  Sorry RJO, or Backyard, whichever.
