"The two electricians can a couple of times to do some change in location for our present electrical box and wiring. They were on time, very professional, friendly, and worked quickly. In one case, I had to go somewhere before another contractor was finished and one of the Wert men volunteered to stay and close my garage once the other workers was finished. He did exactly that. I really am so glad to finally find a great electrical company!"

"Words can't describe how thankful we are. January 24th hours before the snow storm hit we had electrical problems no electricity. They were here immediately. They located the problem and worked 2 days outside in the snow storm. They cared about our safety. They were knowledgeable, very thorough and clean. We recommend them highly! They have our business. GOD BLESS THEM!!"

"I was very pleased with the service of Broadripple Electric. As a homeowner, I am comfortable with and have performed minor electrical work in the past so I appreciate good workmanship. I was impressed with their cleanliness of the job site and attention to detail in performing the work. I will certainly hire them again for any future needed work."

"Matt was quick to come give me an estimate and never made me feel pressured. His quote was much more reasonable than the other three quotes I received. I did receive a little bit cheaper quote on windows from one of the other companies but the salesman was very pushy and I didn't feel comfortable working with him. There was a slight miscommunication between Matt & the door manufacture regarding the finish on the door but Matt handled it and got the correct door re-ordered even though it caused a delay in the original timeline. Matt's crew was very friendly and efficient. I felt very comfortable having them in my home and they cleaned up very well after themselves. They did a great job installing the windows and doors and I'm looking forward to the money I will save since these are much more energy efficient than my previous doors. The front door adds a lot of curb appeal that was missing before. Overall I would highly recommend The Home Improvement Company."

"Excellent, Joe is very knowledgeable and professional. He is very responsive via text message which is great for me! He was on time, coached me on new chemicals and how to best utilize them to maintain the life of the hot tub. I would highly recommend him although he seems to be very busy with a long list of current clients. He is 2+ weeks out so I would advise reaching out to him in advance and not waiting until the last minute or you may be out of luck."

"I was very impressed. The project only took two days to complete all projects. My husband was able to work from home to be there for any questions. After the first day I was confident that they do good work. I was very impressed with communication, cost, and attentiveness. Better yet, they exceeded our expectations and even painted our front door and cut our dryer line to have better air flow.

Thank you for taking three projects off our to do list!"

"Fritz was great to work with from start to finish! He was punctual, and extremely flexible with our moving-target schedule based on a whole house remodel. The finished product is just as described and anticipated. People actually comment on how good it looks - they offer a variety of base paint colors and then you can add colored chips in various combinations. We love the retro look!"

"We removed half-wall paneling and chair rail molding in our den, but there was no drywall behind it. We reviewed the reports on Angie's List and decided to contact Luther Spears first. He came out, gave what we viewed as a very reasonable estimate ($560) and we liked him so much that we looked no further. Hired his group (which really is mostly his family members) for the job and they completed everything within a few days. Needed a teeny bit of touch-up, which they happily do if needed - all they ask is that you prime first, so you can see all of the imperfections more clearly. We primed about 1 month later (we got the flu, didn't get around to it), and during that time Luther called to check on us, to see if we still wanted them to return (note: nice follow-up, very classy). We did, so we primed in the next week and then they were out to do the touch-up. At that time, we then decided to remove the faux wood beams in the same room and had them do a bit more work to touch up the ceiling and repair a 4X4inch hole that we accidentally created during the beam removal. So all of this additional touch-up, repairing the hole (required replacing drywall stud-to-stud), and cleaning up some mold damage behind one of the beams was $270. Extremely reasonable overall, given that they were at our house five times. What I like about this company and their crew is their pleasant, old-fashioned customer service (even the company logo portrays this). But the best part is they were ALWAYS on time, and even early in some cases. I also appreciated that when little things needed done (ie the touch-ups) they were able to schedule it early in the morning (eg as early as 7:30 when I needed it) so I could still get to work on time. The team was always pleasant, and very accommodating. Even offered to help me move some furniture back. I'd hire them again, for sure. And Luther, the main guy, is absolutely delightful."

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in Grammer, IN

While homeowners with substantial electrical knowledge might technically attempt a subpanel installation, most local building departments require permits and inspections for this type of work. Professional electricians understand local code requirements, can obtain necessary permits, and ensure the installation meets safety standards. Given the significant safety risks associated with incorrect electrical work, most homeowners benefit from hiring a licensed professional.

A standard subpanel installation takes an average of four to eight hours. This timeframe may extend if you're installing multiple subpanels or adding specialized circuits like those for spa equipment. Factors such as difficult access points, complex wiring paths, or permit processing times can also affect the overall project duration.

Adding a subpanel doesn't directly reduce electricity consumption or lower your utility bills. A subpanel simply redistributes power from your main panel to additional circuits. However, organizing your electrical system more efficiently may help prevent overloaded circuits and the associated problems. For actual cost savings, consider energy-efficient appliances and lighting instead.

The appropriate subpanel size depends on your specific electrical requirements. Consider the number and type of devices you'll be powering, potential future needs, and the capacity of your main electrical panel. An electrician can perform a load calculation to determine the most suitable amperage rating for your situation, ensuring you have adequate power without overpaying for unnecessary capacity.

A main electrical panel connects directly to your utility's power supply and contains your home's primary service disconnect. It distributes electricity throughout your entire house. A subpanel, by contrast, receives power from the main panel and redistributes it to a specific area of your home. Think of the main panel as the primary distribution point and the subpanel as a secondary branch that extends your electrical system's reach.

While electrical upgrades aren't as immediately visible as kitchen or bathroom renovations, they can contribute to your home's functionality and safety. Prospective buyers often appreciate updated electrical systems that can accommodate modern power demands. A properly installed subpanel that provides additional capacity for workshops, home offices, or future expansions could be an attractive feature for certain buyers, though the direct impact on home value varies by market.
