"The job went extremely well it was a service call to have ACE come out and take a look at the PCV pipes and connections running from the part of the AC unit inside my home. I had water leaking from the unit coming up underneath my hardwood. Ryan was great (professional, knowledgeable, very personable); he checked out everything very carefully and found the water was leaking from inside my unit. In addition to checking the pipes and connections on the AC and ensuring no other debris he unclogged the drains in my master bathroom."

"i purchased the $149.00 'big deal', which advertised air duct cleaning for unlimited vents .
well, i was appreciative of the fact that they were able to come ahead of the schedule than they initially offered; i.e., they sent correspondence apprising they were 'booked' until around the end of thanksgiving week.  i called the 'office' and explained the dire nature of my situation, and the person i spoke with made arrangements for the technicians to come on the same day.  GREAT!
what the technicians [said they] did:  a thorough cleaning of the main [and only] unit, to include 'sanitizing, deodorizing, and other miscellaneous cleaning as reflected on the invoice that i was later given.  [NOTE:  the technician assured me that he would provide 'before and after' pictures.  he did NOT.]
i asked when they were going to clean the air ducts......on more than one occasion.  at some point one of the tech asserted that cleaning the ducts would not be necessary.  huh?   paraphrased, he advised that cleaning the system itself made cleaning/clearing the ducts unnecessary.  wait, HUH?
around that point, the tech said that he would apply the $149.00 i'd already tendered [via paypal] to the charge for cleaning the unit.  THAT charge came to $303.00 [including tax], for a total of $452.00!!!
so, i now have a two year warranty......for what, again?
after all was said and done, they did not clean one, single, solitary vent.  NOT ONE.  too tired, cold, and too old to argue, i paid them the additional charge, and they departed.  what is even more puzzling, was the fact that they left my downstairs thermostat set to 82 degrees, and the one upstairs on 90.
t she ask[NOTE:  technician #2 took two pictures of an area that they said was unsealed and needed repair.  THOSE were sent from HIS  to my cellphone with seemingly no problem.  after they departed, i sent tech 2 a text message asking that he remind his co-worker to send the other photos to my phone or email.  i also called the 'office' to request that ask them to be sent.  i received a response from NEITHER source."

FAQs for window a/c unit service or relocation projects in Granbury, TX

If your window air conditioner is relatively new or of high quality, repairing it can restore optimal performance and protect your investment. However, for older units or those with ongoing issues, it might be more cost-effective to replace the unit to ensure long-term efficiency and reliability. Consider the unit's age, the severity of the problem, repair costs versus replacement, and energy efficiency ratings when making your decision. If repairs cost more than half the price of a new unit, replacement is typically the better option.

Window air conditioners last eight to ten years on average. After this time, you may notice decreased efficiency and component wear. Replacing an older unit can improve energy savings and provide updated features like remote controls and better overall performance. With proper maintenance including regular filter cleaning, coil checks, and professional servicing, you can maximize your unit's lifespan.

If your portable AC isn't cooling, it might have a refrigerant leak or a circuit malfunction that's preventing it from working properly. It's best to contact a local air conditioner contractor to inspect and repair the unit. If your AC is older and repairs don't fix the issue, replacing it might be the most effective solution.

Removing a wall-mounted AC costs $55 to $75. Completing the removal yourself at the end of each summer season, being sure to do so according to proper guidelines, keeps you within this cost range. Should you require professional assistance for removal and disposal, if you can't move the unit yourself, expect an added fee of $25 to $50 to the overall cost.
