Customers say: Quality work

"We live in Texas and had to get our Wa. home rewired. We hired this company. We did our due diligence and read the reviews on Home Advisor. This company illegally moved our electrical meter and the wires with it violating the law. It's defined as "meter tampering" and is a violation of Wa. state law. We have now been fined by Puget Sound Energy for $2000. even though the owner admitted doing it to a PSE service man. We lost all of the food in our deep freezer as well because PSE turned the power off to make sure that the meter and wires were installed properly and wouldn't burn down our house. This has been an emotional train wreck because the company refuses to make it right with us. They are UNRESPONSIVE. They don't care that they harmed us financially and smeared our good customer name with PSE."

"McCarthy Electric and Technologies provided the lowest quote for the job. They completed the work the very next day in just a couple of hours. Additionally, they were incredibly helpful when I got stuck inside my RV because the door handle fell off."

"I needed electrical charger installed in my home and I inquired on Angie's list. Superior Electric was the first one to respond and came out first thing next morning. John, Sam and Angelo were great guys to work with. Being a nonprofit, we always look for people who can work with our limited budget. They were professional and courteous. They did work as they said promptly and efficiently explaining everything along the way. I would recommend these guys anytime to the people who needs their electrical work done."

"Really good group to work with (especially Tyler who went above and beyond to make things right after the initial install). Their rates were the most competitive (and sensible) out of multiple bids for a Rivian powerwall charging unit. I would use them again."

"Ok here’s the story about Bayless Electric…. What’s not to love. From beginning to end Greg was the most knowledgeable electrician I’ve ever met. I’ve had his company on countless jobs for the last 20 years…I as well am a professional and I’ve seen plenty of “fly by night” companies, Bayless Electric is not one of those. They stand by you from start to well after the finish. If you need electrical work done you will absolutely not go wrong hiring them. "

"They replaced my mother board with a generic one ( not a Lennon one) and it ruin my thermostat and now they refuse to give me a call back or any finfo on Mother board. Charged me $1300 and won?t replace it or return calls. Very frustrated with their lack of them not taking care of my problem. "

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in Granite Falls, WA

While homeowners with substantial electrical knowledge might technically attempt a subpanel installation, most local building departments require permits and inspections for this type of work. Professional electricians understand local code requirements, can obtain necessary permits, and ensure the installation meets safety standards. Given the significant safety risks associated with incorrect electrical work, most homeowners benefit from hiring a licensed professional.

A standard subpanel installation takes an average of four to eight hours. This timeframe may extend if you're installing multiple subpanels or adding specialized circuits like those for spa equipment. Factors such as difficult access points, complex wiring paths, or permit processing times can also affect the overall project duration.

Adding a subpanel doesn't directly reduce electricity consumption or lower your utility bills. A subpanel simply redistributes power from your main panel to additional circuits. However, organizing your electrical system more efficiently may help prevent overloaded circuits and the associated problems. For actual cost savings, consider energy-efficient appliances and lighting instead.

The appropriate subpanel size depends on your specific electrical requirements. Consider the number and type of devices you'll be powering, potential future needs, and the capacity of your main electrical panel. An electrician can perform a load calculation to determine the most suitable amperage rating for your situation, ensuring you have adequate power without overpaying for unnecessary capacity.

A main electrical panel connects directly to your utility's power supply and contains your home's primary service disconnect. It distributes electricity throughout your entire house. A subpanel, by contrast, receives power from the main panel and redistributes it to a specific area of your home. Think of the main panel as the primary distribution point and the subpanel as a secondary branch that extends your electrical system's reach.

While electrical upgrades aren't as immediately visible as kitchen or bathroom renovations, they can contribute to your home's functionality and safety. Prospective buyers often appreciate updated electrical systems that can accommodate modern power demands. A properly installed subpanel that provides additional capacity for workshops, home offices, or future expansions could be an attractive feature for certain buyers, though the direct impact on home value varies by market.
