"It was a pleasure working with this company. The BEST part about Greentrax is their proposal. It is thorough and complete listing EXACTLY what work will be done and any extras the customer has requested. I contacted 6 contractors for this job and each of the other 5 contractors sent me a proposal with about 5 lines. Kelly, the Office Administrative Assistant, send emails confirming everything = so you know what is going on at all times. She will also research questions for you and get back to you with the answer -timely. First, on the initial call, I asked if the old oil tank could be removed and that I have time to insulate under the back porch and paint (I wanted to hand paint the new oil tank) the new oil tank. The tank is 300 pounds and the fellow who came that on the "remove old oil tank and bring new oil tank and place on patio" day showed me the best way to position the tank and how to rotate it so all sides could be painted (he also attached the legs so they could be painted at the same time. I hired a local young man with lots of muscles to actually drop and lift the tank. The "lentils" (the cement pieces that go under the tank to make sure the tank stays LEVEL were also dropped off on that day. I paid for part of the job. Old tank removal /new tank drop off was on Oct 16, 2017. Kelly explained the sludge charge and assured me that all sludge is being handled according to regulations and in a way that protects the environment. PS. One of the other people who came out for an estimate told me that he would "cut the tank open and burn off the remaining oil". Since I am interested in environmental issues, I wanted to MAKE SURE that my job was handled in an environmentally sensitive way. I had a personal problem that tied up my schedule for 6 weeks, then the weather changed so I could not finish the under the porch work timely. When I called in late December 2017, the office was off for a week between Christmas and New Years and I got an early January installation appointment. The installation went smoothly. The job looks great. Greentrax honored the $2.00 / gallon price given to me in August or Sept 2017 - even though the price of oil has risen since then. The new oil filter for the new oil tank was suggested by the first guy that came to remove the old oil tank. It slipped both his mind and my mind that I wanted the new oil filter too. I called ON THE DAY OF THE INSTALLATION, told Kelly about the oversight. I agreed to the price and the new oil filter was installed = NO PROBLEM = the oil filter was picked up on the way to my job. In the picture, an orange covering is over the copper wire. As you can tell I am a very fussy woman. All Greentrax employees understood that I wanted to understand the process and make my own decision about what is best for my situation. At ALL junctures when a problem could have arose, none did. I whole heartedly recommend Greentrax. I also suggest that you paint the oil tank yourself. THE BEST PAINT is with Rust Scat, Polyurethane Enamel OIL BASE Black GLOSS. Purchase this paint (about $50.00/ gallon) at Budeke's Paint, 418 S Broadway, Baltimore, MD 21231 . It is a COMMERICAL level painted used on bridges, has UV protection, and is HIGHLY Rated = brush application is better than roller. = 2 coats recommended and scuff first coat so second coat will adhere to the first coat. Read can instructions for the grade of sand paper to use. USE A RESPIRATOR WHEN USING THIS PAINT OUTDOORS. I did not and got sick for a couple of days; no problem after I put the respirator on (I do not like the way they feel on my face, so I only use a face mask or a respirator when absolutely necessary = it is necessary with this paint). The other hint from Husky Oil company = FILL YOUR OIL TANK AT THE END OF THE HEATING SEASON (APRIL OR MAY) to prevent condensation on the inside of your oil tank. Oil tanks rust from the inside out. Painting with good paint AND fill oil tank each year in April or May will protect your oil tank for years to come. I know that the additional research I did and the paint I used to protect the outside of the tank is going to extend the life of my oil tank for more than the 10 years warranty. The job looks great and I could not be more pleased."

"Hollenczer Construction (Dave) gave us a very practical bid – items that we could spec were given a fixed price. Items like fixtures or flooring that we hadn’t chosen yet were given an allowance. As the work progressed, Dave wrote up change orders when we upgraded from the allowance. He also wrote change orders when we downgraded from the allowance or when I bought item included in the allowance. In other words, he reduced his price when we picked less expensive items! The whole project took about six months. I was impressed that subcontractors ALWAYS showed up when they were expected. Dave inspected their work and had any problems corrected before I ever saw the problem. His permanent crew did all the structural and finish carpentry – and you should see it! I am a perfectionist and the carpentry is perfect. When I saw the craftsmanship of the crew, I upgraded the trim around windows and doors because I know they could do it well. They even leveled the floors where the house had settled over the years. Dave listens very well to understand what you want and why you want it that way. If your idea isn’t practical, he will tell you what the problems are, what it will cost, and what alternatives are available. He even found a couple of areas of unused space and suggested adding closets. I wouldn’t change a thing. Several neighbors have hired Hollenczer Construction after watching our project."

"The basement is complete however I'm disappointed with Noonan Construction.  This company took on more than they could chew with their Angies List basement deal.   Mike Criddle from Noonan came out to review my basement and write up some dimensions, etc., in order to provide a quote for the project.  This was in September 2014.   Fast forward to December 2014 I finally received the proposal for the basement.    After making the first down payment in February 2015, it wasn't until early May that someone finally showed up to kick start this project.   The project dragged on for months, many different people for various aspects of the project when they wanted and I wasn't advised of the schedule, who'd show up when, etc.   The few times I was told when someone would be here they were late, or didn't show at all.  Deliveries would show up with basement materials, however I wasn't advised therefore was stuck handling at least two large deliveries.    Owner Brian Noonan, advised they were too busy because they sold too many Angie's List basement deals.  The workers who did my basement and the owner admitted my location was too far away as well (even though their service area includes Harford County).   Note that I asked this question in no uncertain terms when Mike Criddle made his first (and only) visit here in September 2014 to review my basement and draft a proposal, I was reassured I was within their service area.  <br /> I had issues with their bookkeeping the duration of the project.   They invoiced incorrectly, sometimes asking me for a duplicate payment that was already made (and cashed).    The lack of attention to the details with how the handled the finances created additional frustrations for me.    Chances are I would have paid more than was agreed to for the overall job if I didn't stay on top of their accounting, in fact I would have paid at one point $5K more than I had to.  Who knows if Noonan Construction would have realized their mistake, fortunately I caught the invoicing error before doling out another check.   <br /> The owner rarely visited to manage his people and review the work being done.   Overall he may have been here 2 times at best.   Often times there were issues and I'd be summoned by his workers who'd hand me their phone to deal with the owner that way, and discuss issues that he couldn't see or manage because he was never here.  More than once I had to remind him he should be here managing this, and as apologetic as we was, he didn't supervise or rarely got involved in the actual work being performed.   <br /> Fast forward, after months of aggravation just to get this basement project done, still no owner visibility to manage this, I had to draw a line and insist Noonan allocate whoever he needs to and get my project done.   The project was supposed to run 4 - 6 weeks but it ran  took 3+ months.    I cannot attest to the quality of the basement as only time will tell.  There are issues with the drywall with screws already popping out, the corner brackets showing metal, the paint job isn't great and there's been no follow-up for retouching.   The wall mounted AC/Heater they installed leaks, no one knows why and I was told me to check the filter, which I did only to advise them the filter is clean.    I'm reluctant to utilize the wall mount, maybe I will if I put a big bucket or bowl underneath to capture the leakage.    In addition there are several pieces of ceiling tile incorrectly placed and/or cut and several areas of unfinished business (i.e., wires not enclosed, stair rail not mounted, etc.).     <br />     <br /> I will not use Noonan Construction for any future work and will not refer them to anyone I know.  "

"The weather cooperated to get the job done in record time. The men were professional. The quality of the work is top notch. Catches the eye of all who drive by. <br />One of the beautiful trees that Jason chose to have planted wasn't really to my liking so they did remove it for me. <br />The crew that installed the pavers really had quite a time putting up with me. I was very hands on by choosing which pavers went where during the driveway entrance installation. Not one complaint from the men or the supervisor, Chris. In fact, they will be doing another large project for us. <br />We highly recommend LandArt Associates LLC. <br />"

"Did not proceed with setting up an interview. I telephoned this company about slab jacking a cracked concrete patio. I decided not to proceed with an estimate because I asked if they subcontracted their mud jacking work. The representative did not seem to answer my question at first but after persisting she stated they do sub-contract the work. My point for this review is to inform other home owners, who only want to engage with 'one' company for accountability and quality and also, not want to incur extra cost with a 'middle company'. I indicated that I would 'hire again' even though I did not hire them as it seems unfair to indicate "yes or no" in this situation. I rated 'C' as Fair because I don't know anything else about the company and there was no other option available. They may do excellent work otherwise but I don't want any subcontractors completing my projects."

"We had the Landscape Design Center install an irrigation system from our roof gutters under the back yard, and then regrade our side walkway and add a flagstone walkway. They did a great job. One of the ways they really stood out was in diagnosing our water issues, and explaining where excess water was running out of our previous system. Their team was very professional and spent a lot of care situating the flagstones and organizing plants around them. They also provided the most competitive bid we received. I would definitely use them again for future landscape work."

"Overall, service was good. We needed gutter cleaning on our 2 story, 2500 sq ft home. A friend currently uses Atlanta's Best and recommended them to us. I got a quote online for $125, less a $20 discount for new customers. The crew had to reschedule our first appointment the day of due to getting delayed on a previous job, but their communication was good and kept us in the loop the whole time. The office rescheduled us and got a crew out within a week of the initial appointment. I wasn't home when the guys arrived, but I came home to not only clean gutters but a clean driveway, walkway, porch, etc.. They didn't just pull the crap out of the gutter and throw it all over the place which was nice. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking."

"I had a 50-year-old house with a cinderblock basement wall that had water slowly coming through. I researched the various firms that did waterproofing and had three highly rated firms come out for an estimate. The first contractor didn’t even bring a flashlight and just looked around and said to keep an eye on it. The second gentlemen did provide detailed estimate and carefully explained the problem. Randy, the owner, from Chamberlin Washington provided a similar diagnosis and estimate. His estimate was not only a little less expensive but he looked at the entire house and found other things that could use some maintenance. This is what I liked about Randy – he looked at the whole house and discovered several smaller things that should be fixed to avoid issues down the road. These were all things I knew about already but I’m glad someone took the time to examine the entire house and not just the one issue I was having. We had then not only waterproof the outside wall but also fill the expansion joints in our patio and seal one basement window as well as re-point some mortar joints in the brink chimney. When the crew came they went to work. They also did an admirable job protecting our plants. An old section of of a 6' high stockade fence had to be removed and I bough a new section and the crew was happy to put that up. When they water tested the wall they found a small leak. They re-did the sealant and that did the trick. Randy came out and supervised critical parts of the job. He was great to work with and happily fixed a few small things at the end. Randy really cares about doing the job right. I am 100% pleased with the work they did. I watched over much of the repair and everything was done correct and by the book. Overall I can't say enough about how pleased I was with Chamberlin-Washington and their work. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone."

FAQs for concrete driveways & floors installation projects in Grasonville, MD

Polished concrete floors offer many benefits with very few drawbacks. While issues like discoloration, stains, or imprints may occur during pouring, these are rare when working with a skilled flooring contractor. Once polished, concrete floors are easy to maintain, long-lasting, and eco-friendly. They also resist mold and moisture, making them ideal for allergy-prone households, and offer versatile design options for both indoor and outdoor use.

Polished concrete flooring is often more affordable than tile. It involves lower material costs and less labor-intensive installation. Tile installations require additional leveling and preparation, which increases labor costs. Opting for concrete flooring helps reduce upfront expenses and provides a durable, stylish finish that saves money over time with minimal maintenance.

While epoxy flooring offers enhanced durability and toughness compared to polished concrete, it comes with higher material and labor costs. If budget is a top priority, polished concrete floors provide a resilient and attractive finish without the premium price tag, making them an ideal choice for value and long-term performance.

Polished concrete floors last 20 years or more when installed by licensed professionals and maintained with proper care. Their enduring finish withstands heavy use and remains visually impressive for decades. Regular deep cleaning and maintenance help safeguard the floor’s integrity, providing homeowners with a long-lasting, cost‐effective solution that endures daily wear without compromising style.

Polished concrete floors increase home value by offering a modern, sleek appearance and exceptional durability. A professionally installed floor not only enhances visual appeal but also minimizes maintenance expenses, making the property more attractive to prospective buyers. This flooring upgrade delivers a refined look while boosting overall market competitiveness and long-term property value.
