"They scheduled me for 9/29/21 and then called the morning of to say they don't install gutters on houses with metal roofs. I talked to other gutter companies who stated it was a BS statement to get out of doing the work."

"There were 2 installers, they arrived on time, I was working that day so they called me when they finished the job (approx in 5 hrs) so I came home to pay them by check. I understand that I have a lifetime warranty on these gutters & transferable should I move."

"It went great. Brandon had cleaned my gutters every fall to get the leaves out and blow out the underground drains. He suggested installing gutter guards. We will no longer need his services because of the new gutter guards, but I will certainly use them again if we move."

"We started having some drips during hard rain storms. Based on this and the age of our roof, we knew we would need to have our shingles replaced. After talking with other people about metal roofing, we decided to go that route. On 09/27, I checked Angie's list for roofing companies and found Metal Works and Improvement.  Upon contacting them,  an appointment for an estimate was made with the owner Dave Logue.
Dave showed up on time and had was extremely professional and knowledgeable. He sat down with my wife and I, and explained everything you need to know about contractors, insurance, reviews, recommendations, and of course roofing options before we even started talking about our roof. He had no problem showing us his contractor license (which we found out, isn't a requirement in NC unless you they do work above a certain amount) and when it expired.
We had been burned by contractors in the past and didn't realize a license wasn't a requirement.
After about an hour of talking with Dave, he went on the roof to take all the measurements and check to make sure our roof was structurally sound. He noted a couple problems with some facia boards and said they would fix them and paint them when they did the work. We then discussed the various options we had in regards to the width of metal strips and the colors. Once we decided the style and color, Dave then discussed how everything would be put together including the type of screw and O-rings used. Once we decided on the style and color, he said he would send us an estimate explaining everything in detail. We hadn't completely decided on a color, so he included both in the estimate. At no point, did we ever feel pressured into using Metal Works for our roof. From the time he came to our house and spent 2 hours talking and going over everything in detail with us, we felt they were the best company we could go with.
We had the estimate the next day and once again.....felt no pressure that we had to use them.
Once we had financing arranged, they called us to set up a time to sign the contract and put down a deposit and Dave was right on time. He explained to us the steps of delivering the product, removing the old shingles, etc. and what to expect. They called us a few days later to say they would do the installation on 11/08. The materials arrived around 8:00 a.m. and when I got home from work around 5:30 p.m., the job was complete and you couldn't tell any work was done, other then a brand new metal roof.
I  highly recommend using Dave and Metal Works for any home improvements.

FAQs for copper gutters service projects in Greensboro, NC

Copper gutters cost more upfront, but their 50- to 100-year lifespan and resistance to corrosion make them a practical long-term choice. They also develop a signature green patina that many homeowners like. If you plan to stay in your home for decades and prefer a low-maintenance system that handles harsh weather, the higher initial price can pay off over time.

With routine inspections and cleaning, copper gutters last 50 to 100 years. Over time, they change from bright copper to a muted brown and, eventually, a green patina that protects the metal from corrosion. Because the material resists rust and damage, you won’t need to replace the system as often as vinyl or aluminum, which last 20 to 30 years.

Exposure to air and moisture slowly oxidizes copper, transforming it from a shiny penny color to brown, then charcoal, and finally to the familiar green patina. In many climates, the full change takes approximately 20 years, although hot, humid, or coastal areas may experience color shifts sooner. The patina actually protects the metal, so you don’t need to polish or seal it unless you prefer to keep the bright copper look.

Gutters don’t have to match the roof or siding exactly, but they should complement the colors already on your home. Copper makes that easy—its color warms over time and pairs well with brick, stone, and most paint palettes. If you’re unsure which finish works best, ask a local designer or gutter professional to show you samples against your trim before ordering the materials.

The best material to use depends on your specific needs. Vinyl is the most affordable option and works well in mild climates, but it can crack in extremely cold conditions. Aluminum is an affordable and lightweight material that lasts approximately 25 years with routine maintenance. Steel handles heavy snow but will eventually rust. Copper costs the most, yet it can last a century with very little maintenance. Weigh life span, weather, and budget before making a choice.
