"Anticipating a possible afternoon appointment by Avi, I took my grandson out earlier in the morning to take care of errands and by 12:46 I get a phone call on my cell from Avi looking for me. I looked at my cell phone, and I told him I was expecting him and I would be there. He asked me if I was on my way home; he said he arrived 10 minutes earlier and I told him that I understood he would be there between 1 and 1:30. Good thing my son just got home because he had to assure Avi I would be home on time as Avi appeared anxious to leave again. Before getting off the phone call with Avi, I had to tell him not to go anywhere because I would be there by one (I was just at the corner store preparing to leave). So I arrive at my home before 1pm and Avi is in his truck. He comes rushing out as asks 'wheres the leak'? At that time, I mention to him I thought he was to do a roof inspection. By this time while he get his ladder positioned to access the roof, I explain to him I have a crack in the ceiling in my front room and a couple people had told me it was due to a possible leak, Avi then tells me he'll take a look at it when he's finished on the roof as this gives me a moment to bring my grandson in the house to get settled. It couldn't have been more than 3 to 4 minutes when I hear a 'Hello' at my front door and Avi lets himself in to tell me my roof is fine. I show him the crack in the ceiling and he tells me since there is no discoloration, it could not be a leak. He explains further that he sees the drywall needs repair and explains how it could be done. Avi assures me my roof is in good condition and runs through all the components of the roof structure and says its all good...that it appears the roof couldn't have been installed more than 10 years ago. I could tell he was ready to go but then I asked him why is it that my roof appears dented and sinking. At that moment, Avi slows down and takes time to explain that the roof was installed with poor ventilation and that the attic had trapped hot air without enough means to ventilate it. I asked what he could do to fix that and how it would be done. Avi explained he would have to install 'eyebrow vents' along the 50' linear ridge. I asked him how much and he said $100, I asked how what he needed to do and if it was only one that was need which he said it would take probably 5 of them. I asked if he could give me an estimate and he basically told me he was busy through November. I told him I was interested...but then I asked him if my roof needed minor repairs. He mentioned something about the chimney flashing and a couple 'tight shingles'. I asked if he could take some pictures and he said it wasn't really necessary. I understood Avi stating he would return sometime the following day to take care of that and it wouldn't take very long. I ask did I need to pay him and he said I already made the payment to Angies list and if I can make out a review. The following day I did not get a visit from Avi, or at least he never came to the door. I can view the chimney from grade but can't tell if anything was done. Before I enlisted Avi's service I reviewed the comments that were provided for viewers and mentioned to Avi I was impressed with the good reviews. When I think of the service I recieved from Avi, only one word comes to mind: VERY RUSHED"

"I purchased the "big deal" which turned out to be an incredible value because of having a shake roof which is typically more expensive. There were some scheduling issues in that the estimate took a couple weeks and then the service was pushed back a couple times because of conflicts on the RoofRX side.
In the end, the service technician, named Chance, did a terrific job. He blew off the roof and blew out the gutters, and he even picked out some weeds. Yes, my damp, wood roof grows weeds sometimes.
He also went out of his way to blow the debris from the roof into the surrounding ground cover areas so that the paths were left clean. And last, but not least, he wiped down the gutters because mud had been splashed on them. For me, wiping the mud was particularly important because I had pressure washed the gutters earlier in the year.
I'm not sure why but I had pictured that someone would be reaching into the gutters and pulling out the leaves. That was NOT the way this is done but it worked out much better.

"Owner and helper came out to do the job. They came on time, got the job done and also gave me an estimate for gutter cleaning at my request. They were courteous and professional. I have scheduled an appointment for them to clean our gutters as well. I recommend them to anyone who needs their services.

FAQs for copper gutters service projects in Sacramento, CA

Copper gutters cost more upfront, but their 50- to 100-year lifespan and resistance to corrosion make them a practical long-term choice. They also develop a signature green patina that many homeowners like. If you plan to stay in your home for decades and prefer a low-maintenance system that handles harsh weather, the higher initial price can pay off over time.

With routine inspections and cleaning, copper gutters last 50 to 100 years. Over time, they change from bright copper to a muted brown and, eventually, a green patina that protects the metal from corrosion. Because the material resists rust and damage, you won’t need to replace the system as often as vinyl or aluminum, which last 20 to 30 years.

Exposure to air and moisture slowly oxidizes copper, transforming it from a shiny penny color to brown, then charcoal, and finally to the familiar green patina. In many climates, the full change takes approximately 20 years, although hot, humid, or coastal areas may experience color shifts sooner. The patina actually protects the metal, so you don’t need to polish or seal it unless you prefer to keep the bright copper look.

Gutters don’t have to match the roof or siding exactly, but they should complement the colors already on your home. Copper makes that easy—its color warms over time and pairs well with brick, stone, and most paint palettes. If you’re unsure which finish works best, ask a local designer or gutter professional to show you samples against your trim before ordering the materials.

The best material to use depends on your specific needs. Vinyl is the most affordable option and works well in mild climates, but it can crack in extremely cold conditions. Aluminum is an affordable and lightweight material that lasts approximately 25 years with routine maintenance. Steel handles heavy snow but will eventually rust. Copper costs the most, yet it can last a century with very little maintenance. Weigh life span, weather, and budget before making a choice.
