"I can't speak highly enough about my experience with Joel and his team. I called on a Friday inquiring about mold remediation (cleaning of my whole condo downtown) and physical removal of funghi/mold that had grown due to water leakage and by the following week all was resolved. Not only was the total cost a fraction of the amount compared to another quote that I had received, but Joel rearranged his schedule to get me scheduled in a few days. In less than a week, all my issues were resolved and my follow-up air quality test results came back great! They were prompt and extremely thorough in their cleaning. Joel and team treated my home as if it was their own and I could not recommend them enough!"

"Ted from Biotek noted that since I had already done some home project work, the fix needed was actually something I could do myself. He gave great feedback on the root problem for moisture continuing to build up was the lack of a hose feeding to a vent from the bathroom fan, and that a simple dryer hose running to an existing vent exit in the attic would help on that front. He then gave steps on using a vinegar solution, elbow grease, and letting the area dry for several days (avoid that shower) after killing the existing mold, before applying a layer of mold sealing primer (like Killz). He saved me at least $2500 compared to some quotes I'd received to take care of the problem."

"It went very well! My inspector was on time, Knowledgeable and detailed. I was informed of my results by Jeremiah, a senior Mold Analyst with Mold Test Company, he was also very detailed and knowledgeable. I hope to not need their services again but if I do, I will be using them again. Although I had no viable mold, I did have a water leak in a bathroom and thought it would be a good idea to get tested. I am very glad I did because there was mold present, and it was a dangerous strain. We treated our home for the mold and the mild symptoms I had been experiencing quickly abated. I had no idea mold could have been responsible for it, I thought a persistent cold or perhaps allergies had been the cause. Thank you again!"

"The test was simple--collect a water sample from a faucet in the home. We sent the test to the lab and received a water quality analysis within a few days. The test included analysis of the water sample for the presence of: coliform bacteria, E. coli, iron, lead, pH, turbidity, and nitrates/nitrites."

"I noticed?what I believed to be mold in my house and asked for AIT to come and evaluate.? Mr. Rick came out, and sure enough it was mold.? He took the time to explain to me what having mold in my house meant and the potential dangers of leaving it there to grow and spread.? He also explained to me the process of removing and preventing future mold.? We agreed to the work and within a few days he brought a small crew in and completed the work in a very professional, timely manner.? Working with Rick and Mimmie was a very smooth and easy process.? I will definitely be using them again!"

"I live in a log home and the humidity and mold spores were startingot show up pon my house. They enclosed my house with really thick plastic and put a dehumidifier under the house that would run continuously. <br /> <br /> It went excellent. These guys came in they came in Monday and stayed all the way through until Ffriday until they were done. They waited for me to inspect before I paid. They took away the old wet insulation that was sweating really bad and was making wood subject to rotting. They enclosed the space and it is dry just llike any other room would be. They cleaned the mold spores off of the wood I had so I am basically starting off with a brand new crawl space. It also comes with a 25 year warranty. <br />"

FAQs for mold & toxic material test projects in Greenwood, SC

Some companies offer a no‑cost phone or video consultation that screens for red flags. If the discussion points to a real issue, the pro will recommend a paid on‑site inspection. The complimentary call clarifies whether you need full testing, but it isn’t a substitute for samples, lab work, or a written report. Always confirm what the free service covers before you schedule.

A standard inspection, which includes basic air and surface samples, takes an average of two hours. If the pro needs to probe hidden spaces, such as wall cavities or ductwork, plan on up to six hours. Extra time allows the inspector to reach tight areas, collect additional samples, and document findings. Lab analysis is a separate process and often adds several business days to the overall timeframe before you receive the full report.

Mold thrives where moisture lingers and air flow is poor. Common hotspots include bathroom walls, kitchen backsplashes, window sills, HVAC vents, fireplaces, crawl spaces, and enclosed attics. Check these areas regularly—especially after leaks or high‑humidity weather—to catch growth early and avoid costly repairs.

Unchecked mold can knock 20% to 37% off a home’s market value because buyers worry about hidden damage and health risks. Even after remediation, visible staining or a history of major moisture issues can still lower offers and prolong the time on the market. Addressing mold quickly protects both your property’s structural integrity and its resale appeal.
