"Great ! Owner Tim came out and did an emergency tarp -- in the rain, as my BR ceiling was leaking. Jan ( office manager ) worked with my insurance until the bid & repairs were enough to give me a great outcome. Their repair guy was professional, friendly and did a good job. I would not hesitate to use them again & to recommend them !"

"esInitially it started out well but as is typical in this industry, things start to fall off.  He is able to do most phases of construction but prefers trimwork.  The scope of work that we had didn't fit where he wanted to be.  If it was a single job that he was being hired for, I think he would be good.  He did good work but we do a lot of custom stuff and that throws our subs off sometimes.  Super nice guy and I felt that he was trustworthy. <br />"

"<p>Our house was built in 1928 so painting it had a few challenges. I can always tell if a job is well done by how much clean up I have after the job. There was very little splatter. Our house is approximately 1850 sq feet and the job took two days. The guys all did a great job, and were very professional. </p> <br /> We will be calling him to obtain a bid for the exterior work in the next week or two. <br />"

"We had an old back porch, approximately 5 feet by 5 feet. The windows were single pane and most were broke. No insulation. Not big enough to do much more than come in and unlock the back door to get into the kitchen. We had a vision for a porch that could be enlarged to accomodate our washer/dryer, new window, insulation, outside back entrance, new outside steps and be long enough to enclose our outside basement door by creating a walkway to a new outside basement door. Mike came over to do an estimate and carefully wrote down everything we mentioned. Within a couple weeks, he presented us with an estimate that captured all we said plus suggestions for the things that were needed that we had not considered due to our lack of construction knowledge. As soon as the weather broke in March, he and his crew came over when they said they would and tore off the back porch in a day. After the foundation was taken care of, they were back to construct the porch of our dreams. Cooperation between Mike and the concrete contractor, plumbing company, electrician and flooring people(all of which I will do reviews for) was marvelous. He was willing to work new ideas that we came up with as things went along. He took time to talk with us at the end of the day and we enjoyed his company very much. He and his crew were responsible, reliable, knowledgeable, fair and most of all, honest and trustworthy. What he said is what he did and more. Now we have our new outside steps and landing, a new back door, a beautiful room that is now 5+ feet by 15 feet, a great energy efficient window, total insulation floor to ceiling, storage spaces about the part that enclosed the basement walkway and storage underneath the porch accessible in the basement walkway and a new basement door, siding to match our garage, new screen doors and a new roof on the structure. He captured our vision!!! We have recommended Mike and his crew to many of our friends and will be contacting him in the future to side the rest of our house or for anything we need that he can assist with."

"Our half bath was cramped, outdated, and ugly.  The pink sink wasn't bad, but the pink toilet was awful.  It had been a kitchen pantry before the previous owners remodeled the kitchen and bath.  An odd thing: they had moved the entry for the bathroom but left the old pantry door; it opened to the back of the drywall of the kitchen! <br /> Aaron ripped out everything but the floor and the "new" bathroom door (this was the really nice feature of the previous remodel. It is an old confessional door from a church).  He added some studs, put up insulation (there was none...brrr!), and drywalled the room (including the door to nowhere). <br /> The floor only covered about two-thirds of the space because the old cabinets and counter were built in.  Aaron did a great job adding more tile (and we had extra tile left by previous owners) to complete the floor.  He gave us the weekend to paint the empty room (although he would have painted if we wanted). <br /> Aaron came back Monday and did a superb job installing the vanity and toilet we had purchased, plus rehanging the original mirror/light.  He had also put up the stained trim he'd worked on over the weekend at home.  The trim now matches the confessional door.  The door had never latched for us and in a few minutes Aaron was able to move part of the frame over so it now works. <br /> We love the way the bathroom looks and spent the next week walking in there just to admire the changes. <br /> Aaron is a complete professional and a really good guy.  He was very careful and cleaned up after himself every day. <br /> We plan to have Aaron build a screened-in porch when the weather gets nice. <br />"

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Grinnell, IA

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
