"Needed to update my old formica countertop so that a cooktop could be installed.  Bill Shea's is on the radio ads a lot & called for estimate.  Very professional & no "attitude" when I mentioned that I was on a very tight budget & wanted to know what I could get for in Corian material.  (other telephone inquiries at other centers gave me attitude!)  Turns out they have a group of several popular colors that are lower in price than others, this is what I went with.  This was my first home project, and the staff at bill shea's was very patient answering all my questions about what steps would be involved, when things will be ready, etc.   The home visit for the measurements & estimate write up was no-pressure.  Seriously!  I was very suprised, after experiencing other "free estimates" in the past.  If I ever need to replace my countertop again, I'm calling Bill Shea's.  Yeah, I sound like a commercial !

"I found OJ Marble and Granite through a Google search. At first, I only wanted to replace a kitchen island countertop with granite. Nenio was quick and responsive and gave me a good price (I had gone to both Lowes and Home Depot depot and been very unsatisfied withe service and prices). I had not planned to replace the rest of my counters, but I asked Nenio to give me quote while he and is crew where there to install the island top. He promptly gave me a price that was very good. "Amazing. Todd was the fourth carpenter we interviewed, all from Angie's List, and we knew immediately he was the one. Unlike the others, you could tell that he was the kind of guy who does what he says; shows up; and does a quality job. He did all that and more and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. Todd did more than the projects he was given - he referred the electrician and plumber who also did a wonderful job and having the three of them know one another helped tremendously - as they would communicate scheduling amongst themselves. "I sent a request for quote via Angie's List in the morning, for drilling a hole in my granite countertop so that an under sink filtration system could be installed. I got a call in the afternoon of the same day from the owner and an installer was sent to my house in the evening. Devon, the installer, was very polite and professional. He did a great job very efficiently and cleaned up everything after finishing the drilling. It was pleasant working with this company and Devon, and I would definitely hire them again!"

This was about as seamless a kitchen renovation that one could ever hope for.  Dave listened carefully to the goals we wanted to achieve in our kitchen, and was patient with the design adjustments we wanted to incorporate as we considered each version of the design plans.  One cabinet in particular that was added toward the end of the design process was brilliantly conceived on his part--a cabinet to store large items that looked like a lovely piece of dining room furniture, with exterior shelving and drawers. It is a centerpiece in the kitchen.  Dave was careful to preserve important walk ways in our kitchen so as to not create bottlenecks--an important element in this centrally located kitchen.  His advice on style and color of cabinetry was also highly valued in our desire to achieve a cleaner and brighter look, yet one that was still consistent with our 1931 Colonial.

The Brookhaven cabinets are beautiful and well-made.  While they are pricey, Dave was able to steer us to take advantage of a manufacturer's discount.  The selection of hardware that was available without incurring additional cost was completely adequate, and we took advantage of this option.

Installation of the cabinetry was smooth and timely.  We decided to make a last minute change to the placement of our microwave, which necessitated the order of a new drawer.  This took longer than we had hoped, but understood that this was not a Kitchen Center issue, but rather one of the manufacturer, as each items is custom made.  When the drawer arrived, it was without a front--this added more time. 

Once the cabinetry was installed, irregularities were minimal.  Dave and a service that works with him tended to adjusting hinges, covering screw heads, and painting areas that needed to be smoothed. 

Overall, working with the Kitchen Center exceeded our expectations.  Communication and responsiveness were excellent.  They partnered well with our contractor so that there were no glitches or last minute surprises--almost unheard of for a kitchen renovation.  The quality of the design and workmanship has made for a space that we are loving, and our only regret was that we did no redo our kitchen sooner!

"Executive summary: best money we spent on the kitchen remodel. We brought in Craig when we decided to do a gut remodel of our kitchen. Taking everything down to the studs gave us a blank canvas to work with that was, frankly, daunting. We tried a couple of the free design services and nothing felt right – everything felt too cookie cutter and bland. Designing the kitchen with Craig was truly a fun experience. He came to the house to talk with us about what we wanted, took some initial measurements, and got back to us with a design. That’s when it got really enjoyable: we had multiple iterations of “What about this?” and “Can we try that?” It wasn’t just Craig telling us what to do, he incorporated our ideas and feedback enthusiastically. There were a few times he told us flat-out not to do something and in hindsight I see that he was correct. We also had some of our own fixed requirements and he worked those into the process. The end result is amazing. The kitchen has become our favorite room in the house and a room where the whole family congregates. Wish we would have remodeled years ago but it wouldn’t have been nearly as good without Craig’s help."
