"Good communication from office. Good communication from the worker in the field. He was friendly and professional. Had to return for a follow-up due to discovery of a broken part under the old toilet. He was on time, took care to clean the area before installing the new toilets, confirmed that they were properly installed with no movement or leakage. Very happy with the work and the price."

"The service I purchased was for two hours of work to replace rotted wood. The price was extremely reasonable and shortly after my purchase I was contacted by Marilyn the owner's wife. She was very nice to deal with and we scheduled the work for later in the week. The workers arrived on time and consisted of Mario (the owner of the company) and Rene (his helper). They went right to work and did an EXCELLENT job. They did a great job cleaning up the work area and the work they did made the wood look like new! I was extremely happy with them and would heartily recommend them. Mario was especially personable and provided great customer service!!! Definitely recommend them for any task (they also paint houses). Thank you SAGa PAINTING..."

"it went well.  Dan and his assistant arrived on time.  he had to leave and get the supplies he needed after he saw the job that needed to be done.  they both did a good job and was worth the money.  my only comment would be he seemed a little annoyed when he had to go back to Home Depot again for more supplies, which was certainly not my fault, and seemed to not want to paint, which was part of the job I hired them for.  all in all, a good experience and would use them again. <br />"

"Fernando took the measurements, ordered materials as needed, matched the stain with existing furniture, in a highly professional, rational and reasonable manner... all done on time, as discussed and expected.  I never felt like this was a rush job or just another job.  I am pleased with the final results, and how it was handled all the way through.  Quality takes a combination of materials and labor, and we got what we wanted, expected and paid for.  I do plan to seek Fernando's assistance with other cabinet and closet projects in the near future."

FAQs for wood stairs and railings installation and replacement projects in Hallandale, FL

Pressure-treated lumber is the most inexpensive deck railing material. It's a cost-effective option that offers a good balance of durability and affordability for budget-conscious homeowners. Pressure-treated wood meets essential safety standards while keeping upfront costs low. In contrast, vinyl, polyurethane, and composite materials tend to be more expensive but offer additional aesthetic and maintenance benefits.

To calculate how much deck railing you need, measure the length of all the edges of your deck where railings are required (excluding any openings or areas bordered by the house). Since precise measurements are crucial, it's a good idea to hire a professional. Contractors have the expertise to accurately measure and install your deck railings.

In most cases, safety standards require railings on steps with more than four risers, steps wider than 44 inches, and decks over 30 inches high, measured from the next level down.

Railings should also be between 34 and 38 inches tall. Regulations can vary based on your location, so it's important to check your local building codes or consult a local contractor. There are also rules about the size of the gaps between pickets and between the bottom of the railing and the deck.

Before installing a railing on your front porch, you'll need to check local permitting requirements. Local building authorities may have specific codes that require a permit—or, in some cases, no permit at all. Reviewing your city's guidelines and consulting a qualified professional will help ensure your project meets all legal and safety standards, preventing any unexpected issues during inspections.

Deciding whether to repair or replace your deck railings depends on the extent of the damage and whether you can match new materials to the old ones. If you have minor issues, repair might be an option. However, when it's challenging to match existing materials, replacing the railings can give your deck a fresh start and reset its lifespan. A decking expert can assess your railings and recommend the best course of action to improve safety and maintain a cohesive look.
