"In April of 2002 I had “Leafilter” installed by Mastershield installed my gutters. Guaranteed for life or your money back. That did not work out because in August of 2004 after a complaint they came and inspected my gutters when I was on vacation and left me a note that everything seemed okay. I called them about their lifetime warranty or your money back and was told that that was only covered by the company that installed and that actually I had no warranty at all because that company was no longer in business. Makes you want to think, “what is a lifetime warranty”. I had no warranty at all and now for the rest of the story. I have to admit that their product did keep debris out of the gutters however it plugged up so badly on the top of the gutters that I had to get my son to go up on the roof with the brome and a small brush and clean the tops of the “Leafilter” gutter guards. And because they totally plugged up on the tops the water just ran off the roof like I had no gutters at all. Think about this before you buy any gutter system. Keeping debris out of the gutters is not enough. It must keep debris out and the water going down the downspouts - not over the edge. We fought this for years because I have a good number of trees shedding leaves and other small debris onto my roof. If you don’t have any trees or debris going onto your roof, I doubt you need any kind of gutter guard at all. I bought “Leafilter” because of the warranty which in the and was no warranty at all. In April of 2020 I had all new gutters installed by “The Gutter Magician”. They tore down all my old gutters including the “Leafilter” covers that never worked properly. Their crew installed everything in one day and the cleanup was very good. I did have one small problem after an extremely hard rain and their man came out and realigned one gutter and that fixed the problem. Their response to this problem was immediate and efficient. There was no argument about a warranty or anything else - they simply fixed it like they said they would do. Now just think this out - the “Leafilter” system works great if you don’t have leaves and “The Gutter Magician” system works great with tons of leaves and other debris. Conclusion -- the Think the whole process through thoroughly."

I think we ended up talking to 6 different company representatives starting from the sales person to the final installation contractor. The installation contractor, Chris, installed large gutter runs by himself and cleaned up after himself. He asked questions during installation to confirm he was doing everything correct. I though this was good. Improvement suggestion would be to strengthen communications between sales, delivery and implementation team members regarding the scope of work."

"We were disappointed by the roofers being late more than once to work on our roof (without calling or letting us know). They also had poor communication. They told us we needed fascia boards replaced on the roof due to rotting wood, proceeded to do everything except replace the fascia boards, and then never let us know about the change in plans. This left us thinking they did an incomplete project. They did however pick up every time we called, but never initiated communication. We are also happy with how our roof was repaired, just not happy with the communication or punctuality"
