"Woke up this morning to my hvac leaking and contacted Markool. I have never used them before and was in a pinch. They fit me right in this morning and were out at my house within 2 hours. The tech stepped in the door and placed covers for his shoes so he did not track in any dirt which was impressive! The tech was very professional and super friendly. Problem was diagnosed and FIXED within an hour. The price was extremely reasonable to the point I was shocked in a good way (expecting a higher price). Anyways, I will most certainly be a returning customer. Thank you Markool Heating Cooling Plumbing."

"Joseph was great to work with. He contacted me right away on a sunday and was at our house early monday. We had a pipe leaking from somewhere and he was able to locate the problem area without having to open up to much wall space. The repairs were done quickly and professionally once located. Joseph was very professional and personable. Great over all experience and would recommend his company to anyone needing plumbing repairs."

"My old faucet was faulty and needed replacing. Potomac Mechanical Contractors came out with a two man crew, diagnosed the pipe was sweated in from the outside so needed to find where it came into the house. Had to cut open a small piece of ceiling drywall in basement to locate pipe but was able to do so and replace with new faucet that is working great. Deal price via Angie's List was the price paid. Good, respectful workers and prompt response from company."

"We decided to purchase our own propane tank to allow us flexibility in choosing our propane provider, so Shawley's was recommended to us.  We went to their showroom, where Jim explained everything to us and even stayed after hours to get everything lined up for our install.  We had the tank installed and all lines run for a hot water heater and stove and also had an extra line installed in case we decided to hook up a gas grill on the patio.  They were very responsive and worked well with our contractor in getting the job completed on a tight schedule.  They also gave us a very good price on propane.  Definitely a great company to work with - highly recommended! <br />"

"We had a pipe so clogged it needed to be removed and replaced. Bob Jones Plumbing came to our house very quickly, they worked efficiently and cleaned up their mess. There were 3/4 men there working for 3 hours. It cost $800. The only issue I have is that they removed all the insulation in the wall and didn't replace it (or advise us to replace it). When we had a cold snap a few weeks later the pipes froze up several times."

"We have used them for a very long time. We have had good luck with them. They could probably be a little bit more professional. We are happy with them, I really don’t have any complaints. I think their price is very fair. I would use them again."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Hancock, MD

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
