"All workers were respectful and polite. They finished work in less time than I thought and cleaned up any mess which I appreciated. Tub and wall look beautiful. They explained how to use it. Customer service was great starting with sales rep and throughout installation. They removed the big whirlpool tub and installed a walk-in tub."

"I was very impressed with Robert and his crew. I received a quote very quickly after sending him a picture of the large pile of tree branches that needed to be removed from my back yard. He arrived promptly at the scheduled time and his crew cleaned it up in record time! They swept up after themselves and even offered to take some additional branches that weren't in the picture I had originally sent them for the quote. Robert and his crew did an outstanding job for the quoted price and I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again in the future."

"I had received one of those "Un-professional" letters from State Farm in which they tell you that you need to replace your roof immediately or they will not renew your insurance. Of course these letters don't tell you if there is any damage to your roof....only that you need to replace it and my State Farm Agent wasn't much help. They just told me to call them when it was replaced.
Now most people wouldn't be too concerned about this but I was working for the military, working in Florida and my house was located in Bellevue, Nebraska. None of my friends knew anything about roofs and my property manager wasn't able to help.
I contacted Marathon Services, Inc. via Angie's List in March 2013 and Paul Stoural called me the next day. We discuss my situation and he would have one of his associates inspect my roof. He called back later in the week to tell me that my roof was good for another two years. I contacted my State Farm Agent and they weren't too happy.
I kept in contact with Paul over the next few months, knowing that when it was time to replace my roof, Marathon would be the company that I would contact to do the work. I appreciated Paul's honesty and his ability to go into detail on the work that needed to be done. Now Paul is the type of guy that after a couple of phone calls you would think he was family. He understands and can relate to what you are going through.
I returned to Nebraska for good in October of 2013 and contacted Paul to check his schedule and add me to his list for the Spring of 2014. During this conversation Paul asked if I had filed a claim for "Hail" damage and at the time I hadn't, because I wasn't aware of any damage. I contacted my State Farm Agent and they immediately asked if I had replaced my roof. You could have heard a pin drop when I told them that I wanted to file a "Hail" damage claim. Their inspector came out the next week and yes, I did have hail damage.
Since I have a small house, I told Paul to fit me into his schedule when he could. That I would be happy as long as it was done by September 2014.
Marathon Services did an excellent job on roofing my house and the garage. They started around 0700 in the morning and were done by 1130. They did a great job of cleaning up after their selves and the roof looked fantastic. Now, I live around a lot of retirees and we all were amazed at the job that they did.
My garage was an old wood detached garage that was built in 1949 and though I did give thought to tearing it down and replacing it with a two car garage. After talking with Paul, I decided to have siding installed and I am glad that I did. Paul was able to find siding that matched the metal siding on my house. It wasn't the same color, but Paul painted it to match the color of the house.
The two gentlemen who installed the siding were very professional and the painters came out a few days later and were done within two hours.
I had waited for years to have an exhaust fan in my bathroom. Marathon Services installed the Vent for the bathroom exhaust and when installing the air vent cap....they went the extra step and installed air vent caps on two other vents on my roof. Now most companies would just install the cap and leave.......Marathon went the extra step and painted them to compliment the roof.
For me....Paul & Marathon Services went above and beyond what many contractors would do for their customers.

"I bought a deal for $49 for a kitchen or bathroom design consultation but had them move forward with the kitchen and bathroom renovation.  They could've followed the schedule, and done a better job overall. We're still waiting for them to redo some work that was insufficient."

"Project went very well. Beau was very friendly and did an excellent job on our interior. In addition to painting, we had some fairly large holes in our walls from hanging shelves and Beau also patched these for us (they looked as good as new). Our 10 year old house looks like new again, I will definitely reach out to Beau again for our future painting needs."

FAQs for walk in tub installation and replacement projects in Harlan, IA

Because Medicare classifies walk-in tubs as non-durable medical equipment, it generally won’t pick up the tab. Medicaid can help if a doctor certifies that the tub is medically necessary, but rules change by state. Call your plan early, ask which forms you need, and keep any prescriptions or letters on file to improve your odds of reimbursement.

A walk-in bathtub’s fill and drain times hinge on your home’s water pressure and the tub’s hardware. Most models with a fast-fill faucet need about six to eight minutes to fill and two to three minutes to drain; larger basins or standard drains can tack on an extra 10 minutes. Stay seated until the water is completely gone so you don’t swing the door open on a full tub’s worth of water.

A walk-in bathtub holds 50 gallons of water, and its design supports capacities that range from 40 to 80 gallons, depending on the product. In contrast, a standard bathtub holds 25 to 45 gallons. This capacity is determined by the fixed design of the tub and its construction materials. Homeowners should review the detailed product specifications to confirm the exact volume available for use during bath time.

Walk-in tubs are tax-deductible when the purchase qualifies as a necessary medical expense and meets the IRS criteria. Caregivers who install a walk-in tub also qualify for the Dependent Care Tax Credit under specific conditions. Homeowners must verify these requirements with the IRS and consult a tax professional, as state and program guidelines enforce strict documentation standards for such deductions.
