"We immediately liked Mike Schmidt when we met him for the
first time when he came to our house to talk to us on how we wanted to remodel
our kitchen and give an estimate.  Mike is a positive person who is a
great listener, very approachable, easy to talk to and always in a great
mood.  I can not emphasize enough what a great listener he was to our
ideas for our kitchen. Other contractors we had contacted before Mike for
estimates had said they only do this option or this option and that was it and
would not listen to our ideas and were rude.  My wife had very specific
ideas of things she wanted in the new kitchen along with several custom made
things that would be unique in our kitchen.  Mike was always polite and
said Joe and his crew could do all of those things.  He wrote down all of
her ideas.  My wife also gave him a photograph of an industrial type steel
railing she saw on Pinterest and wanted that railing custom made along with a
gate to match to stop our grandchild from going downstairs and also for our
dogs. She also wanted a feature wall where the entire wall would have old
barnwood on it and a custom made pantry screen door with old barn wood on it
also. Joe built and installed all these things.  Mike would bring pieces
of barn wood to see what we thought of it and sent pictures of wood.  Mike
and Joe always asked and listened to my wife's ideas and made great suggestions
too on things that sounded like what she was looking for. Mike always answers
his phone and is very willing to answer questions.
Joe takes great pride in his work and everything he works with turns out
awesome.  He also is a great listener and is in a great mood.  Mike
and Joe and crew were always on time and did a great job of cleaning before
they left each day.  We are so amazed at how beautiful the railing and
gate are that Joe created, welded together and installed.
Mike and Joe truly represent what a contractor should be.  They showed the
following:
Listens well, are in great moods, can talk to them on ideas and/or changes,
friendly, creates a positive environment, enjoys their work, communicates well
with talking, sending a text, answering the phone, and sending e-mails
including suggestion photos and ideas, extremely hard working, great pride in
their work and have a great price for remodeling.
Mike is the best contractor I have ever worked with. Joe is amazing and can
create and install anything the customer would like.  Joe told my wife how
he was so looking forward to creating our railing and gate. Joe loves his job.
This is the best contractor experience we have ever had. I have already
recommended Mike and Joe to all our friends and will contact them again for any
future remodeling.
Everything in our kitchen is exactly how we pictured it in our minds, We love it,
are very happy and are totally satisfied!! Thank you Mike and Joe!!

"It is a waste of money. The great majority of people are not going to find any value out of the service. If you need design consultation, you need a full service consultation. If you already have knowledge and experience, and you just need to get a few ideas, then you don't need to pay for that. You can just get a magazine or a book since you already have the knowledge of basic designs in your head or a little bit of experience. To have someone call you and give you information over the phone, you are not getting the personal service that you need. You may as well take the money $49 and apply it to something else like getting someone else to come out and give you the service that you need. Because, you are not getting much, you are not getting anything at all. They are going to have you do the work. After talking to them and I was talking to other home designers, I found out that that was a waste of time and waste of money. I gave them a C because they didn't fail at what they do but they don't offer any value for what they do. There's not much value to it. The cost was fair. They didn't do a terrible job and the cost isn't terrible, it was only $49. It just has a very low value. For responsiveness I gave them a B because they will answer your phone and answer your emails."

FAQs for walk in tub installation and replacement projects in Harlan, IA

Because Medicare classifies walk-in tubs as non-durable medical equipment, it generally won’t pick up the tab. Medicaid can help if a doctor certifies that the tub is medically necessary, but rules change by state. Call your plan early, ask which forms you need, and keep any prescriptions or letters on file to improve your odds of reimbursement.

A walk-in bathtub’s fill and drain times hinge on your home’s water pressure and the tub’s hardware. Most models with a fast-fill faucet need about six to eight minutes to fill and two to three minutes to drain; larger basins or standard drains can tack on an extra 10 minutes. Stay seated until the water is completely gone so you don’t swing the door open on a full tub’s worth of water.

A walk-in bathtub holds 50 gallons of water, and its design supports capacities that range from 40 to 80 gallons, depending on the product. In contrast, a standard bathtub holds 25 to 45 gallons. This capacity is determined by the fixed design of the tub and its construction materials. Homeowners should review the detailed product specifications to confirm the exact volume available for use during bath time.

Walk-in tubs are tax-deductible when the purchase qualifies as a necessary medical expense and meets the IRS criteria. Caregivers who install a walk-in tub also qualify for the Dependent Care Tax Credit under specific conditions. Homeowners must verify these requirements with the IRS and consult a tax professional, as state and program guidelines enforce strict documentation standards for such deductions.
