"I tried Mike's when I first arrived in the Valley and was pleased at price and the quality of the work to replumb our bath and kitchen, install electrical upgrades & circuits and a gas line, serviced our two HVAC units.. I would gladly provide a reference. I've joined their Home Shield Protection Plan so I get priority service, discounts, and use them for all my plumbing, electrical and HVAC. Thanks Mike (and all your fine service folks who have worked at our home.)"

"When appliances break down, it always happens on a Sunday. This is what happened when I discovered our water heater had been leaking into our garage and through an adjoining wall to the front porch of our house. I called Burl's Plumbing, spoke to Burl himself, and he sent Charles out to our house two hours later to evaluate the problem. Early the next morning, Charles returned with Dan (Burl's son) and soon we had our water heater installed and ready to go. Charles and Dan were experts and efficient in their work--and extremely nice to work with, too, not to mention the very fair quote we were given for the work we needed to have done. I highly recommend Burl's Plumbing!"

"Landmark couldn't have been more professional. The company they referred the repair to I was pleased to find out is very highly rated, and they were at the house three hours after I called Landmark, and the a/c was up and running an hour later with no issues in getting Landmark to pay for the repairs. Overall a quick and simple process and I'm extremely grateful I had the home warranty as paying for such a large repair after just closing on the house would have been a tough hit to my finances."

"They were on time and very professional. They found the source of the leak, and gave me really good advice on what to do and who to call. They even fixed my front door that was sticking, swollen from the humidity. I wanted to pay them for the consultation or at least for fixing the door, but they didn´t charge me anything. These guys were so professional and honest! They went above and beyond by fixing my door! Their kindness speaks volumes about what a fair and ethical company these guys work for. Thank you! <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Harlingen, TX

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
