"Let me start off by saying, I am probably one of the most difficult clients to work with for home renovation... I am in the trades and an avid DIY type of guy. I am very hands on and take on most projects myself. I am not easily persuaded by salesman or sales pitches because I REALLY do my research before I let them enter my home. I got quotes from 4 different waterproofing companies before I met Fred Thomas. All 4 companies had different solutions to my situation. 1 waterproofing company used a scare tactic and told me my house was going to fall over if I didn't use their system... He then showed me on his laptop a video of how his companies system corrects the problem... Let's just say it was very expensive, confusing and would have destroyed our entire front yard adding more costs to an otherwise un-precedented and expensive fix... When Fred came thru my door, I knew he was the real deal. No sales pitch, no scare tactic, no laptop, just straight up and to the point... Fred uses a system that has been proven and works. He sells his product on experience and reliability not on new unproven technology or cheap inexpensive band aids. He knew exactly what the problem was and how to correct it. I wanted the guy who actually can install these systems on my house to sell me the job, not one who only studies the theory on the system. Thomas Waterproofing was booked 6 months out and I needed this project pushed forward quicker, Fred made it happen! His team was out the following weekend to get our job done. I probably drove them crazy with questions and picky requests, but they did everything I asked and more. During the project I found out I had to replace the cast iron sewer line in my slab. Another expensive repair... Not only did Thomas Waterproofing do the job we agreed to, they also Jackhammered out the slab for the plumbing to be re-done and supplied all the stone to be back filled. He did this as a favor to help me save on costs. David and Devon the 2 team leaders are great guys and very hard workers, I would have them do work on my home any time. I was very impressed by their overall knowledge of construction. Great attitude and great people to be around. This is the business you want on your project... Extremely pleased with the work done! "Jeff from RaiseCrete from Foundation Repair Pressure Grouting came to the condo as scheduled and did a thorough examination of the problems both inside and out. It was determined that the foundation had cracked and needed to be reinforced. They had to remove a portion of the deck covering the area on the slope in order to hand excavate down to the existing footer and 18 inches beyond that to determine the number of and length of Stabi-Loc push piles needed. These were ordered and installed. Then engineered footer mounts were mounted to existing footers and the foundation was raised back as close to original elevation as possible to stabilize. The excavated areas were filled in and compacted down. The deck portion that was removed was replaced. Also Geo-tile was installed on the slope under the deck and extensions were installed on the gutter downspouts in that area to help with erosion control on the slope. The cracks on the exterior brick were repaired as were the cracks in the interior wall sheet rock. The work was done as scheduled and in a timely matter. The work area was cleaned up very well. Two other estimates were gotten. Raise Crete's price was in the middle of the other two quotes but included more services that would have been needed. Both the condo owner and the HOA were very satisfied with the results and would use Raise Crete again."

"Our family bought an older home in Farragut 7 years ago and have been constantly renovating the home and property since. We’ve worked with a number of local companies for various renovations and repairs during that time. We also renovated our previous home in Knoxville. So we’ve worked with a LOT of local home improvement/repair companies. We have high standards, and have some very good experiences with local companies, as well as some that were not so good. In September 2020, Green Home Installations replaced our 135 foot long 8 foot tall privacy fence, and another 75 feet of six foot high fence with two gates. Our existing fence had been built more than 20 years earlier and was collapsing. After over 20 years in Knoxville, this major project with Green Home Renovations was without a doubt our best experience in working with a local company. I would recommend them to anyone, and here is why. We contacted Angie’s List for quotes on the fence. Three companies responded. One was a well-known local fence company, once was a smaller business, and the third was Green Home Renovations. We had some specific requests for this fence, and each company responded with a visit and a follow up quote. All three companies made a reasonably compelling case but Green stood out because they offered two things the others didn’t: 1) a MUCH longer warranty, and 2) a clear description and demonstration of the higher quality materials they recommended and why. Also, to be fair, the cost of the work they recommended was higher than the other two. After 25 years of home ownership, we’ve learned that for long-term projects with demanding environments (like a fence) you never regret choosing higher quality. So we chose Green. Anthony was assigned to lead the project and his communication and reliability as project lead were outstanding. We knew exactly what day they planned to start the project and in the days afterward Anthony made certain we knew what days and when they would be there. There were some rainy days in the middle of the project and they worked in the rain when it was safe. Some days they asked permission to work late and worked until dark to get the job done sooner. The team that worked with Anthony was respectful, good natured, professional, hard-working, and regularly asked questions to clarify what we wanted. Robert, the owner, was also fantastic to work with. He met with us before the project began to resolve some specific final details and came by daily to check on progress. There were discussions about what certain elements of the quote meant, and he worked through every detail with us, and found a good answer or solution to all of the issues of concern or clarification. He proved to be very straightforward, reasonable, extremely committed to customer service and satisfaction with the project plan and outcome. He also proved to be an outstanding person, with a remarkable commitment to the integrity of the business. The outcome was an absolutely beautiful, high quality, custom fence that all our neighbors are excited about. Green Home went the extra mile with quality of materials and finished it beautifully with very sturdy gates, high quality hinges, magna-locks and beautiful post caps. I should mention that I never met anyone from Green prior to the Angie’s List request, so this is not a family and friends review. But I repeat, Green Home Installations was the most impressive home renovation company we’ve worked with in our 20 plus years of living in Knoxville. We enthusiastically recommend them to anyone."

"They did a good job on sealing up the basement. The french drain was a bit of a challenge. My car port was still flooding after a good steady rain. When they came back to fix, they removed some nice gravel that they installed originally and dug a little deeper and put in some stuff that was butt ugly. I didn't make a big deal of it because ultimately what I wanted was the flooding fixed. Getting them back to fix the problem took weeks. They often didn't return phone calls. The main guy said he had come out to look, but he didn't bother to tell me. The second time didn't fix it either. They finally came out a third time to work on the french drain after many phone calls and most of them not returned. I was told their answering service wasn't working a few times. Internet problems or something. But that went on for weeks. They finally sent someone out and they brought the drain further out from the edge of the car port. (The original problem they said was they couldn't dig any deeper because the edge of the carport had cement that was beyond the edge. My thought, they should have moved it back the first time when they realized this. The description of the ditch on estimate was it would be 12 to 18 inches deep. It was nothing close to this. I tried to point this out, they sort of ignored me. This whole miscalculation really wasn't my problem.)  They pulled ditch out on the other side of flower bed and made deeper, they put the crappy looking rock back and told me if it didn't work this time they couldn't do anything else. They pointed out how the hill on the side, (They put the drain in the front.) was so sloped that rain water was likely coming from there. Luckily this drain mostly fixed the problem. I felt they completely misjudged the drain situation. They bid low and that was tied up with some other work. So I can understand how their profit was trickling away. However; the way they handled the whole thing was unprofessional and careless. Due to this I decided I would probably not use them again. If you hire them to do their specialty, crawl space sealing, treatment and remedy, you may be happy with them. Just know you may have to deal with some issues around getting them to call back, etc.

"Removed flying squirrels and gray squirrels. Installed new, heavy duty screens over attic vents. Have not had any issues since this work was done. Did initial cleaning of stucco. Said he was getting another surface cleaner to possibly do a better job. Never called. Never came back. I repeatedly called and left messages. I emailed him. He never responded. Very surprised and disappointed."
