"Kris and Bob made a master piece for a walkway and stairs using materials we have wanted to display for many years. They were prompt and extremeely curtious of my landscaped areas. Available to answer any questions or concerns regardless of time of day or night. They are both exceptionally creative and go way above and beyond our expectations so much that we would be honored to have them come back to do several other projects for us."

"I hired j and m masonry to seal around my leaky chimney. He flashed the chimney and redid the top of my chimney where it was really looking bad. I asked how long the job would take and the cost and there were no surprises at the end. They were safe and i could relax while they worked. The job looked great and doesn't leak anymore. I'm a happy man."

"We had just purchased a house and wanted new patio in the backyard with a fire pit.  The guys from N&A responded very quickly to our phone call and gave us a fair priced estimate. During the work they were very professional, accommodating to our schedule and neat. The most important, though, the patio area turned out great and the fire pit is beautiful!!! We love the stone they recommended and very excited to have this great outdoor place. Would highly recommend!!! Im also doing paver driveway with them on spring time."

FAQs for brick or stone siding: repair or partially replace projects in Harrison, ME

Stone veneer isn’t a weekend DIY. Even lightweight faux panels are heavy and must be anchored, flashed, and sealed to keep water out. Missteps can lead to cracked stone, leaks, or injuries. A licensed siding contractor arrives with scaffolding, masonry tools, and the know-how to set each piece safely and neatly, giving you a long-lasting, professional finish.

Stone veneer durability is robust when expert installation and proper maintenance are employed. When installed with precision, regularly cleaned, and sealed as required, stone veneer maintains its integrity for 25 to 75 years. Inadequate installation, however, leads to water intrusion and structural issues that compromise its longevity. Consistent upkeep and adherence to quality installation standards ensure decades of reliable performance.

Covering the entire exterior of a home with stone veneer is feasible but comes with a significant cost increase. Full coverage escalates both material and labor expenses due to the additional square footage required. Many homeowners reduce costs by applying stone veneer selectively—such as around entries, foundations, or architectural accents—while still achieving an upscale appearance and enhancing overall curb appeal.

Installing stone veneer over brick or stucco is entirely possible when the underlying surface is stable and properly prepared. The substrate must be clean, dry, and free of any loose material to support a secure application. Additionally, any areas of flaking stucco or deteriorated mortar must be patched and allowed to cure fully before a professional applies the new veneer, ensuring lasting durability.

Stone veneer siding offers a substantial cost advantage compared to full-thickness natural stone. It costs 25% of the price of natural stone because it is manufactured from concrete and lightweight aggregates. This method delivers the genuine appearance of stone while featuring a thinner profile that simplifies shipping, accelerates installation, and consistently reduces material expenses.

For a 250 square foot exterior area, stone siding installation costs range from $9,800 to $18,000, while installing stone veneer costs between $5,000 and $6,000. This clear cost breakdown demonstrates the significant savings achieved with stone veneer, which uses a lighter construction method that minimizes both material and labor expenses. Homeowners benefit from these lower costs while still attaining the attractive look of natural stone.
