Miles was extremely knowledgeable and very communicative, pulled the proper permit and did all of the work to code, was trustworthy in recommending what work should be done (vs. what would have been more expensive and needless), was efficient and kept a spotless job site. I cannot recommend him enough for any job, large or small. Thatâ s the summary version of my A++ recommendation. For those who would like more details, hereâ s a longer version: I requested quotes from three HomeAdvisor pros for a few small tasks (i.e. - installing an electrical switch for a garbage disposal & replacing a GFI outlet on my porch), as well as larger tasks (i.e. - installing 3 new outlets in my basement on dedicated lines from the circuit breaker box and diagnosing/resolving why my microwave intermittently kept blowing a breaker mid-use). Miles, owner of All About Electric Company, was the first to respond, so very prompt in his response and we set up a time for 2 days later. The 2nd pro (Zwicker) never responded at all and the 3rd (NCM, Inc) set an appoint for the following day, during which he provided an absolutely exorbitant quote that included running a new circuit to the microwave for $990 and a cost for the porch GFI replacement of an estimated $200 ($95 for the part + $120 for the hourâ s labor he estimated it would take). Miles from All About Electric arrived on time for our scheduled appointment and I was thrilled to discover how straightforward and downright honest he was about limiting the jobâ s scope to only what was necessary. He said it was extremely unlikely that the wiring to the microwave needed to be replaced and even if it did, he suggested we begin with a much more likely and less expensive solution first â ¦ that being to replace the breaker, which was probably going out. Indeed, he did replace the breaker (at a cost of $105) and it resolved the problem immediately at a fraction of the cost of running new electrical wiring through the house. As far as the porch GFI â the total cost was $35 for the part and the few minutes of labor it took to rewire. Aside from Milesâ trustworthiness and honesty, I most appreciated his advice about HOW to best proceed in order to accomplish my goals. For instance, I wanted to have an additional electrical outlet in the basement by tapping off an existing one, but Miles pointed out that the exiting outlet Iâ d chosen was currently being utilized by the sump pump and he advised against adding any potential burden on it. Rather, he advised we tap off one of the new dedicated lines he would be running since it would be running equipment much less vital to the integrity of my basement than my sump pump. Needless to say, THIS is the type of forward-thinking you want your electrician to bring to the table for you! It bears repeating that Miles at All About Electric is a top-notch electrician and I recommend him without hesitation."
