"The two men arrived promptly and began working immediately. They worked 6-1/2 hours taking just a 30 minute lunch break and completed the building. We signed up at the Home and Garden Show and the company stayed in touch during the winter months. Since we decided to have a concrete pad poured we told them we would call when it was completed. We called them on Thursday and they came the following Monday. Since we had the concrete pad poured some work was not necessary and our price was reduced. We highly recommend this company they did a fantastic professional job. <br />"

"We searched for the right company to build our new He Shed / She Shed earlier this year. When we found Alpine Structures and discussed our needs with them we knew that we found the right team to work with. All aspects of the project went incredibly smoothly and we could not be more pleased with the results. The crew that built the shed was efficient, professional and friendly. Money well spent and I now have neighbors, friends and co workers with Shed envy. Thank you for a job well done."

"Always takes longer than expected especially on a big job like this one.  Changes always are requested.  Job started in early November, finished on December 30, 2014. Replanting of front yard will have to wait till Spring.  Original bid was $29,500.  Final cost was $36,654. We added several projects to original job, and we feel the additional charges and time frame were fair.   <br /> We were impressed with Dan for what he was willing to do.  He was the only contractor, even among the contractors your website recommended, who would take on our garage floor and driveway lowering project.    He owns a similar house with a similarly steep drive and it was evident he took a personal interest in our job because he planned to do the same for himself.   <br /> His crew were timely, polite, competent.  His work yard is located at the north edge of Akron, and that made for quick and frequent oversight at our address, only a couple of miles away. <br /> We would recommend him for any concrete or foundation work, and for any of the followup carpentry and electrical work needed. Dan worked for a major commercial firm before starting his own business, and has experience rebuilding foundations for some of the older landmark buildings on the Kent State campus."

"We had a great experience working with Weaver Barns. Michael was our sales rep, and he made the entire process a breeze. He was always there to quickly answer questions, and go over details with us. Because of our city’s building codes, we needed to have the shed on a concrete slab, and Michael was able to connect us with a concrete company they often work with. The building crew was great, and they managed to build our entire 12 x 24 shed in a single day. The shed is beautiful and the construction is perfect. We would definitely work with Weaver Barns again!"

"<p>I invited Dan Kearns to inspect our house, and give estimates to remodel. Unfortunately the project was too much (we live out of State) and we decided to sell the house as-is. Although, we did use Kearns Construction to gut the basement. Dan exceeded all expectations, and his fees were very reasonable. Other contractors who I invited to visit the house and give estimates, did not even have the courtesy to get back to me.</p> <br />"

"It went extremely well.  The new storm door is a true upgrade from the screen door with bevelled glass that was prreviously there. The new storm door is more secure.  I can lock it when I leave my home in the mornings and at night when I retire for the evening.  Their response and quality of work was excellent. They allowed me to tour their facility to obtain first hand insight to the quality of their storm doors. <br />"

FAQs for garage building service projects in Hartville, OH

A well‑constructed, properly permitted detached garage adds between $12,000 and $36,000 to a home’s resale value. Buyers appreciate the secure parking, extra storage, and flexible workspace, so appraisers often bump the property’s value accordingly. The exact return depends on the garage’s size, finishes, and how well it matches the main house, but most homeowners see a strong ROI when the build meets local codes and passes inspection.

Yes—once it meets local building codes and you secure the proper permits, a detached garage can be converted into living space. Finishing the interior, adding climate control, and ensuring safe egress effectively increase your usable square footage, though it may not always count toward the official listing. Skipping permits can trigger fines and even force you to undo the work, so always clear plans with your city first.

Most homeowners policies cover a detached garage under the “other structures” provision, but coverage limits vary. Review your declarations page and ask your agent how much protection you have for separate structures. If the limit is lower than the garage’s replacement cost, you can raise it for a modest premium. Confirming the details now prevents headaches if you ever need to file a claim.
