"B&P Chimney folks are awesome. I called them up on Monday evening to get an estimate for Chimney cleaning/repair and they came by on Wednesday to take a look at the current condition. I was pleased to know that the owner Paul was personally there to help/do the work. Before even talking about the estimate, he and his employee inspected the fireplace, boiler, and the chimney. They even took pics of my chimney from the roof to show me what he was explaining. Glad to know that there are still honest people out there. He recommended just the very basic must do things and let me choose other things I asked. Absolutely no pressure or upsell of his services, infact he recommended me to check with fireplace company before putting chimney liners if it's really required(he does chimney liners too). They were professional, courteous and did a great job the same day they came to give me quote, how awesome is that. They are highly recommended."

"Safety First was terrific. I went on another site to search for chimney sweeps in my area and came up with several names. When I posted something about needing a chimney sweep, Vincent from Safety First was the first person and first company to respond (within about 3 minutes). Vincent offered to come up to my town, which is probably about 45 minutes from where he is based, but the weather and driving conditions were bad, so we scheduled an appointment for the next morning. Vincent worked hard-- it takes someone who is strong to force the piping up into the flue to clear the blockage. Vincent also vacumed the flue and checked it later to make sure it was venting properly. He was very polite and conscientious- he called to tell me when he was on his way, showed me his business card when he arrived, cleaned up after himself, and was honest. I had been told by someone else that I needed to replace my furnace, which kept shutting itself off. It turns out the furnace has a safety mechanism that shuts down the gas/heating function if the furnace detects that it is getting too hot or there is a problem with insufficient ventilation. Because Safety First cleared the blocked flue, my furnace is now able to heat my house and there is no need for it to shut itself off. I would have had Safety First install the replacement furnace, and told Vincent that already, so by telling me my equipment did not need to be replaced he actually is cutting himself off from a job I otherwise would have been glad to give him. If I need any chimney/fireplace work done in the future I will contact Safety First and not need to look elsewhere."

"After a couple of attempts of amateur attempts at repairing my chimney leak during heavy wind/rain storms, I've decided that it was time for some professional help to solve this chimney leak. I started searching around on Angieslist and the rest of the internet, and it was quite a long searching process. There are plenty of Chimney companies out there; but Five Star drew my attention. It was the high Ratings, plus a Facebook page that allowed me to see some of their previous work. Speaking with Five Star I sent them over some pictures of my Chimney with a yard stick for in the image as a reference. After couple of email exchanges, they sent me over a quote - which I found to be the respectable in this arena, especially for the work I wanted done, which is replacing the entire chimney. It's a lot of labor! After setting up the appointment, all that was to do is to wait for them and their crew to arrive. The entire process took a few days; starting with the demolition of the old chimney, constructing the new chimney, and finishing the new chimney with a crown, flashing, and water resistance capabilities. One thing I noticed with Pete and his crew is punctuality, on time each day and getting everything ready for work. At the end of this, I have a new chimney that is no longer leaking per the recent rain storm that passed through the area. And all of the old chimney and construction materials are no longer at my house. A warm thanks to Pete and the rest of Five Star Ventilation for replacing my chimney, I am one happy customer!"
