"Sometimes you just get lucky. We got super lucky when we hired D. Rohde to fix our A/C. Our technician Mike A. showed up with a helper/trainee, explained the estimate fees and then went to work. In less than 10 minutes he was able to identify the defective part, return to the truck for a new replacement part, and then install the new item. In under 30 minutes our main central A/C was back up and running. The second (upstairs) central air unit took another 10 minutes to diagnose and then about 40 minutes of grueling work in a super-hot attic to drain out the overflow tray, cut, blow-out the drain line, and repair the drain. Once drained, the unit is again working perfectly. It is great when a technician shows up and really is an expert. Mike A. is such an expert and also extremely friendly. Brandon, the assistant/trainee was also great and someday will make a great technician using all the knowledge learned from Mike's expert tutelage. I will recommend these guys to everyone I meet."

"I received service in January 2021 for a problem I was having with my hot water heating system. Problems were solved after replacing some components and I was not happy with the overall outcome of the way the repairs went. I paid for the service and everything was working but I felt like I had been given a wrong diagnosis based on details I will not get into. As a result, I gave an unfavorable rating grade. Recently I was contacted by one of the owners to discuss my experience. Ray and I had a long conversation and came to a reconsideration of the bill I paid. Ray has always been extremely pleasant to converse with and at the conclusion offered to refund the complete charges for the services in question. I never felt like I was taken advantage of, but was not comfortable with the process of the diagnosis and the resulting charges. I was left wondering whether other options, or tests should have been considered but I did not want to seem like I was questioning the technician opinions or skills. I new his skills were on an expert level but that does not necessarily mean that an error could not occur. At any rate I am going to try to remove my original rating and wholeheartedly give 5 stars across the board for Polar heating and plumbing. The fact that I was contacted to discuss my concerns and given a refund when I was not even anticipating this is a testament in itself that they are truly concerned with their customers opinions and ultimately the outcome and status of their work. I will continue to consider them with any needs I have in the future and am removing my earlier rating for them. Businesses that go to this level of customer care are, in my opinion, few and far between. Thanks Ray and all your staff for making me feel much better about the experience I had. "Several days after calling we received a visit from Steve, who manages client accounts/coordinates jobs, and John, president. Both men were professional and pleasant, and John went into detail in response to our questions, which gave us some confidence in the firm's competence. We were offered financing. We received estimates via email in a short time. Once we decided to proceed with JSP, Steve visited again with Travis, who determined materials needs and made an estimate of how long the install would take (2 days). Again, professional and pleasant demeanor, and questions answered with detail. Steve was able to subcontract fuel tank removal for a reasonable cost when we determined this was also required by our municipality. Steve filed the permit with our town early enough to start on schedule. Work was scheduled for the end of October. The work was conducted over three days, rather than two, but much of the reason for that lay with our propane supplier rather than than JSP. Overall I was pleased with the install. The crew was small, but well equipped and experienced. There was a company runner to bring items when needed rather than an installer having to leave. They also showed up with two trucks full of a huge selection of tools and materials. Damon and (another) John vastly exceeded my expectations as far as how pleasant I imagined it might be to have strangers working in the home all day. They did not mind explaining what they were doing, they worked steadily but without hurrying, and they treated one another with respect. They did not cause any damage to our home and they cleaned up after themselves. The third day was trying, with Damon having to return late in the evening after doing another job some distance away to hook up and fire the boiler after the propane was finally activated. This did not affect his attitude and we really appreciate his work getting everything absolutely right, including returning a week or so later to make a small adjustment to the system. Payment was requested once the fuel tank was removed a few days later and we had a chance to evaluate how everything was working. We will receive boiler maintenance for two more years, and we are confident the company stand behind their work. The company has automated text and email notifications to keep clients abreast of when staff are en route to your home (including a photo for those very concerned about safety). This was helpful."

"Computer did the "gotta send info to Microsoft" but when tried to reboot it ran through automatic repair without success. I did all the alternative without any success. He came and picked up the hard drive on Tuesday and returned it on Saturday. Fortunately he was able to "restore" without any data loss. Very happy with outcome."
