"Gene did an excellent job replacing a brick accent wall on the front of my home. He recommended a different shade of stone from the original and the house now pops on the street. It looks fantastic. I would highly recommend Gene. He is reliable, honest and does excellent work at a reasonable price. My neighbors were stopping and asking him to provide a quote for their homes."

Randy was uncooperative, argumentative about how the job was to be done. I asked them to put the cleaned up dirt grass and old mulch at my south retaining wall. He had his man put it in the truck, so I brought my John Deere out with a garden wagon and told them to put it in the cart, which they did. Randy kept telling me how he had gotten two "A's" that day.

Randy wants big jobs like tree removal or pruning. Since this job was prepaid, he had me at his advantage. I will never hire him again. They arrived at 10:30 am, but Randy said it was 10:15 after I told him he owed me six man hours. He said if we get all the work done early we should be able to go, right? I had additional work they could have done, but I couldn't tolerate the attitude and hassle regarding how I wanted the job done.

If you want well manicured lawn scaping done to your specifications, you don't want Randy. If you want a big tree cut down in a hurry, Randy might be your man.

I will never purchase any more "bargains" from Angies List. I paid for six hours of labor and barely got four. He left without asking me to review the work. This coming spring I'll have to retrench all the trees except for the one I trenched myself to show him how I wanted it done.

NO MORE RANDY. NO ORE ANGIE.

"Householder has done multiple jobs for me including repairing and waterproofing my crawl space, replacing my old flooring with LVP, replacing a bathroom stool and a kitchen faucet, replacing the roof on small shelter building, and cutting down a half dozen dead trees on my property. Every job was done well, definitely five-star. The workers were polite and professional-- a joy to work with."

"Sonny tore our subflooring out and replaced it and put in beautiful top flooring. He installed a new stool and sink and painted. Turned out beautiful. I would recommend him to anyone. He communicated well and the price was good. He cleaned up after the remodel so I did not have to do much and that was great. He is a bright young man and wonderful personality with us. He can tackle just about anything. Dependable and hard working to do just what u like."

FAQs for brick or stone siding: repair or partially replace projects in Highlandville, MO

Stone veneer isn’t a weekend DIY. Even lightweight faux panels are heavy and must be anchored, flashed, and sealed to keep water out. Missteps can lead to cracked stone, leaks, or injuries. A licensed siding contractor arrives with scaffolding, masonry tools, and the know-how to set each piece safely and neatly, giving you a long-lasting, professional finish.

Stone veneer durability is robust when expert installation and proper maintenance are employed. When installed with precision, regularly cleaned, and sealed as required, stone veneer maintains its integrity for 25 to 75 years. Inadequate installation, however, leads to water intrusion and structural issues that compromise its longevity. Consistent upkeep and adherence to quality installation standards ensure decades of reliable performance.

Covering the entire exterior of a home with stone veneer is feasible but comes with a significant cost increase. Full coverage escalates both material and labor expenses due to the additional square footage required. Many homeowners reduce costs by applying stone veneer selectively—such as around entries, foundations, or architectural accents—while still achieving an upscale appearance and enhancing overall curb appeal.

Installing stone veneer over brick or stucco is entirely possible when the underlying surface is stable and properly prepared. The substrate must be clean, dry, and free of any loose material to support a secure application. Additionally, any areas of flaking stucco or deteriorated mortar must be patched and allowed to cure fully before a professional applies the new veneer, ensuring lasting durability.

Stone veneer siding offers a substantial cost advantage compared to full-thickness natural stone. It costs 25% of the price of natural stone because it is manufactured from concrete and lightweight aggregates. This method delivers the genuine appearance of stone while featuring a thinner profile that simplifies shipping, accelerates installation, and consistently reduces material expenses.

For a 250 square foot exterior area, stone siding installation costs range from $9,800 to $18,000, while installing stone veneer costs between $5,000 and $6,000. This clear cost breakdown demonstrates the significant savings achieved with stone veneer, which uses a lighter construction method that minimizes both material and labor expenses. Homeowners benefit from these lower costs while still attaining the attractive look of natural stone.
