"Chris was able to put double closets in our bedroom. They now look like they have always been there. The work was done quickly quietly and efficiently. Pricing was very reasonable and the finish quality was excellent. I’ve seen other examples of his work and it’s well designed and definitely top quality. Happy to have worked with him."

"A&D was very responsive. They provided a great price and were easy to work with adapting to any concerns that arose along the way. Easy to get a hold of at any time and they always called back and had a man to respond to our concerns."

"At our first meeting (after interviewing 3 others) Greg laid out the plan for the deck replacement and after 15 minutes I knew he was a competent, detail oriented contractor. During this project he broke down the staggered payments and communicated every day of the project through texts and showing up in person. Greg took charge in overseeing everything like a platoon leader in the field by maintaining the flow of construction resulting in a smooth, exceptional conclusion. Part of the old deck was problematic. He examined every inch where there were issues and was able to overcome some difficulty and see what I couldn't. He suggested a landing on the stairway, widening and decreasing the pitch which accommodated an easier climb for us. Those are just the highlights, there was much more. My thanks to Innovative Construction for a lovely new deck."

"I first spoke with the company in the springtime, had two gentlemen come over to provide a quote. There was quite a range depending on whether the mold was invasive enough to remove the deck in order to clear all the rot. Based on reviews and word of mouth, we booked them and they required a 20% deposit. Their estimated time to get to us would not be until September. Whomever was emailing me was a bit difficult to communicate with, responses would be minimal, felt like I was pulling teeth for information. In the end, they did not start their work until October. Originally, we were told it would be 1-2 weeks to be completed which we needed time off from work for. We were also told the folks doing the work would be here at 8am, however they were usually not arriving until after 9 supposedly because they were required to go to their home base first for 8am, then traveled to our home. Upon completion, the amount due was much more than the quote. When my husband and I revisited this quote, we realized it had been very oddly written and could see how the extra was sort of accounted for, but the way it was written, it seemed like that extra amount was only if they needed to remove the deck to repair (which they did not). We asked for a line by line accounting which they could not give us. They did not realize our door was a special size, smaller than most, and said the "special order door" was an extra cost, although it was smaller. In the end, the work was very well done and the guys who removed our old door, the mold, and replaced everything were very polite and did great work, but the communication and billing didn't quite sit right. It also only went over 3 days, so the difference was quite a bit too. In the end, I would recommend them for their work, but be prepared to be flexible and make sure to read everything thoroughly, a few times before booking and be extra diligent about asking questions."

"We contacted several contractors to get estimates on having vinyl siding installed on our house. Scott from Eastern Shore was the most professional, and the only one who followed up with us after giving us the estimate to see if we had questions. Choosing Eastern Shore over the others was an easy decision. <br /> My husband works in retail and was home during much of the time when the work was being done. Joe, who actually did the installation, spoke with him often, and whenever a question came up, Joe contacted Scott, who responded promptly. <br /> This job improved the appearance of our home 100% and we are very pleased with the quality of the work. We would not hesitate to recommend Eastern Shore Home Improvement to anyone."

"Jesus and Jonathan are exceptional. They arrived on time everyday they worked and they worked consistently hard throughout the day. They are very organized and came prepared each day. They are very conscientious and definitely pay attention to detail. Both men are polite, pleasant and helpful. I feel fortunate to have them do the work, hardscape patio with retaining walls, landscaping including grading land, preparation for planting grass, creating a new garden as well as planting flowers and shrubs. They also installed a large sail shade. I also asked them to install a solar tube in my home. When they left for the day, they cleaned up, used great safety protocol, i.e. roping off areas that could be potential danger areas. I am beyond pleased with their service. I would hire them again without reservation. I highly recommend Zubiate Enterprise!!!"

"We had Gnome remove a portion of a retaining wall and some granite slab steps that had sunk unevenly and were in disrepair. They installed proper drainage and replaced the stones and the wall portions evenly. This project was required by our insurance company and Todd Marco was more than willing to work within the time frame and parameters they had dictated. I would also note that the work was performed to the insurance company's satisfaction. Todd Marco was always responsive, by phone and email, and quickly provided an estimate for us, which was the lowest price we received from three contractors. <br /> I also had Gnome deliver some loam and stone for a regrading/reseeding project. The product was high quality, reasonably priced and delivered in a timely fashion. <br /> I would highly recommend Gnome for any landscaping or masonry project. <br />"

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Hollis, ME

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
