"We had a great experience with Alpha Environmental. From scheduling the service time/date to the end of the crawlspace asbestos abatement was all very smooth and positive. The guys showed up on time, were very polite and cleaned up the area they had worked on. Other companies were more expensive and said they wouldn't be able to reach a certain area because the crawlspace is very tight. Alpha was able to do the entire job and showed us before and after photos. We would definitely recommend Alpha Environmental. "

"The owners of the apt. building chose another company, with whom I was not happy. They were not even told that mold was present in the vents. I did speak to Mr. Matt Ballou several times in order to understand all of the business surrounding the proper and professional remediation of MOLD. He was always available, professional, patient and informative. I eventually did suggest to the apt. owners to hire his company. Thank you so much for your wonderful service and the amazing amount of information on the website: Mold-Advisor.com with love, light, JOY and Beauty, Berta Hines"

"I was glad with how fast, friendly, easy it went for me to turn it in and get results quickly. They helped with my Angie's discount so it was good to know i got the best price (less than I imagined) to have this done. The possibility of having mold in a house is stressful enough... glad to have this go smoothly."

"It went great. Garrett was on time, professional and helpful. We were concerned that we may have mold issues behind our tiles and under our floor in our master bedroom. We also paid extra for the crawlspace inspection to see if we had any water damage under the floor. During the crawlspace inspection Garrett discovered that almost all of our heating ductwork below the house had been severely damaged by animals and needed replacement very soon. We were losing heat and money. We're glad we paid extra for the crawlspace inspection ($50). Our total was $400. The results were timely. Although we are not excited with the mold issues and ductwork issues, we were very pleased with Garrett's work and help. He even took a bit of time to check a leaking washing machine to see if we had any mold in the laundry room (no cost!) We'd definitely use him again but hope we don't ever have to."

"My crawlspace flooded and the existing plastic vapor barrier was cut in numerous places (by a different contractor) to allow the water to properly drain. I contacted Spectrum Building and Restoration to remove the old vapor barrier and install a new one. They promptly provided a fair quotation and quickly scheduled the work. When they arrived at my house, the team did a good job of ensuring there was no mess inside my house. They did a great job of removing the old vapor barrier and installing a new one per code and even took pictures of various heating duct issues that required attention. These guys are great and I would definitely recommend using them. <br />"

FAQs for toxicity and mold removal projects in Hood River, OR

Remediation should keep mold from returning as long as the moisture source is eliminated. Fix leaks, control humidity, and replace water-damaged materials, then schedule periodic inspections to stay ahead of new growth. With those safeguards, your home can stay mold-free for the long haul while protecting both health and property value.

Most pros recommend leaving the home while they work on mold remediation. Removing mold stirs up airborne spores that can aggravate respiratory issues, and contractors can work more efficiently in an empty space. A short, temporary relocation keeps everyone in your family safe and lets the crew finish the job without interruption.

Mold shouldn’t return once the moisture problem is fixed. Stay vigilant: repair leaks right away, keep humidity below 50 percent with a dehumidifier placed in damp areas, and improve ventilation where needed. Routine checks for leaks and mold and quick repairs go a long way toward keeping your home mold-free.

Mold spores can trigger nasal congestion, throat irritation, coughing, wheezing, eye irritation, or skin rashes. People with asthma, allergies, or weakened immune systems often feel the effects sooner and more intensely. Some molds also release mycotoxins linked to serious respiratory or neurological issues. Swift remediation and better ventilation are the best defenses.
