"We initially planned to install gravel, but Derek took the time to recommend Zoysia grass instead, explaining it would be more suitable for our shaded backyard and more cost-effective in the long run. I really appreciated that he didn’t just move forward with the more expensive option, but instead provided thoughtful, honest guidance that was in our best interest. In addition to installing the Zoysia, the team also added river rocks for a drainage area and completed minor grading and resloping. They were very professional, efficient, and completed all the work within a single day. The pricing was very reasonable, and the quality of work exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality outdoor services. "

"He replaced the facet with one that was better for me. The original one always started leaking after about two months use and I would have to replace the grommet. The he installed is a faucet that does not require a grommet."

"The beds and mulching around the trees look beautiful! They laid Sid in some areas. Anxious to see it when it all grows in. They arrived on time and completed the job by the time stated. Would definitely use them again."

"Went very well. Came out and we worked up a plan as where to install the inlets and where to route pipes. Worked out a deal where I supplied all the materials so that I only had to pay for his labor. Showed up on the scheduled day on time with his sons and got to work. 2 days later my inlets were installed and fully functional. Only thing I have to say that is slightly negative is that he didn’t know that city code requires SDR-35 drain pipe within the property and schedule 40 from the right-of-way through the curb so ended up having to change out about 40’ of pipe after the fact to pass inspection. But I take partial blame for this as well as I should have done my homework on city code for storm drains. All that said, he is a super nice guy and knows his stuff about where drains/inlets should go and how to route the pipes. He came recommended to me by a co-worker and I have referred him to some of my neighbors. We are all very pleased with his work and would hire him again if we need more work done."

"Very well. RePipe Specialist - Courtsey Plumbing 832-492.9738. More than excellent - from the bid process to the final drywall repair I can't tell you how happy I am. Timing was perfect in every way, down to time arrival time by the minute... They met all expectations of the bid and progress for each day. They remained masked the entire day, all prep work done in the patio, house remained tidy. It takes three days to complete the ENTIRE process, preparation - day wall, pipes in place and working the next day and then the wall people come in the last day. No particles in the water these days. Nice clear drinking water! It's been two weeks since the install. I'm still "over the moon". Hazel"

"Matt was very courteous and came in and removed our old toilet and replaced it with a new one.  He was in and out in about an hours time and we have not had any problems since the new install.  We appreciate the quick service and thorough job!  Matt is a great asset to Mr. Rooter! <br />"

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Hungerford, TX

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
