"Our roofing system—insulation, ventilation, and surface—needed thoughtful replacement. After years of worry, having contractors ghost us, no one willing to look at the project holistically, and sleepless nights, Regulus Building Company LLC stepped in and did an outstanding job. He inspected the situation, came up with a thoughtful plan based on current best practices, hired excellent sub-contractors, and completed the project on time and at a fair price. Unusual in this industry , there was excellent communication from start to finish. We couldn’t be more satisfied and highly recommend Regulus!!"

"Arrived on monday at 9am as agreed. Keith made quick work of the first side of the wall demolition. The most impressive aspect of his work throughout, and at the end of the first day; was how clean he maintained the work area! So, he worked quickly and cleaned things up as he worked. A very cool thing is that he used visqueen and collapsible poles to barrier off the work area, again with keeping the work area and more importantly the non work areas separated and clean. As he finished the demolition of one area, he and quot;finishedand quot; off the edges of the work area to provide a clean edge to work with for future finishing work. The second day, again arriving promptly, he set up structural supporting walls, removed the walls 2x4's and and installed the header beam. The last day, he tore down the living room side of the wall. Again keeping inside and outside work areas clean with visqueen barriers and paid special attention to the hardwood floor by protecting it from damage. He finished the job as specified and removed all the demolition material. Overall, completely professional craftsmanship and work ethic <br />"

"All phone calls were returned quickly. Bids were submitted in a timely basis. Tory and Dan explained the bids and all processes clearly and in easy to understand language. Now my husband understood all that went with home projects, but I didn't. So patient clear explanations given with a sense of humor were greatly appreciated. Start times and delivery of materials were honored. The projects, when done, were sharp and attractive complimenting our home. The projects gave added value. <br /> <br /> It's enjoyable to work with a company whose people work well as a team. They exhibited a strong work ethic. Tory and Dan conducted themselves professionally. <br /> <br /> The work site was left clean at the end of the day and when completed the work area looked better than it did in the beginning. <br /> <br /> We will definitely ask them for their help on our future projects."

Scandia Carpentry and Millwork is dedicated to making sure that all the work done in your home will exceed your expectations. From general home maintenance to custom built cabinets and trim work you can expect that your project will be treated like it’s my own. \nWith over 40 years of building experience you can expect your job will be completed on time and within budget!\n\nA little bit about who I am:\nI built tree forts as a kid...took woodworking classes in high school, worked as a carpenter in high school and started my apprenticeship with Local 131 Carpenters Union in Seattle in the early 1980's. \n\nI have always wanted to be a carpenter since my brother-in-law introduced me to carpentry when I was 10 years old. He loaned me his "Audels Carpentry and Builders Guide" Copywrite 1947...(its now considered "Vintage" on ebay)\n\nI poured over those books, learned everything I could from them... \nWhen I was twelve, I built a tree fort with the neighborhood kids... \nI made sure we had the floor beams correctly lag bolted to the trees, but when I insisted that the 2x4 studs had to be on 16" centers, my crew walked off the job and set up a picket line to protest my strict adherence to the way "Audels" told me it should be. \n \nIn 1990, my dream of owning a business finally became a reality. I started Scandia Carpentry and Millwork and specialized in additions and remodel, cabinets and furniture. \n

"It went extremely well........we had limited space and we wanted to make the most of it. She gave us some great ideas on how to use what we had and how to make the most of it. Her suggestions were clever, unique, and within a reasonable budget. As a result we are in the process of incorporating her ideas into our revised building plan. <br />"

"Newt did an excellent job. He showed up on time and was well prepared to complete the job before company arrived for the 4th of July. Newt is professional and I will definitely use his services again. He had the fairest price compared to the other bids. He was straight forward and honest in his quote. When an additional cost arose, he contacted me before completing the work. <br />"

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Irwin, ID

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
