"Contacted Hope Plumbing on a Monday morning and they were able to provide the estimate and installation the same day. Ryan was friendly and professional. Our water heater was under warranty so he was able to pick up a replacement using the authorization code from the water heater company. GmWe are glad to have hot water again!"

"The came on time and removed the old water heater. When they brought the new unit in to install, it was 2 inches larger than the older unit and would not fit in the opening. So, they had to take it back and get a smaller unit. It was a little inconvenient to add a couple hours to the whole process, but it was understandable with the given circumstances. Once they arrived with the smaller unit, it went in quick and easy. Problem fixed!"

"I came across US Water Systems while searching for information about water softeners.  I called them and we were able to get the right unit for my home.  Our Matrix softener was shipped the next day!  Two days later the unit arrived at my home.  Installation was breeze and Aaron in customer service answered all my questions,.
Great company to do business with!

"My heat pump/AC unit stopped working mid morning the day I was going to leave on vacation. I called Bassett to see if by chance someone could make it out that day, or at least I could get on their schedule right when I returned. She checked with one of their service crew to see if he could swing by my house right after he was done with his current client. He was there within 45 minutes and had made the repair within 30 minutes. Now that is what I call great service!!!"

"I arranged for the heater to be checked on Wednesday the 4th.  Before the service call Andrew called and was able to save to time and effort from looking at cell phone photos of the problem.   The plumber who perfromed the installation arrived on schedule with the new water heater.  Installation was quick and the job was completed in about 2 hours time.  Hot water was restored and my wife was very happy.   Service was very quick and the price was quite reasonable.   I was very happy that the job could be done well and at such a good price.

"Beware,  semi-rational rant to follow. Now is the time to bail out.

 Disclaimer:
I don't like giving bad reviews (search my reviews) and this one is more for the industry (HVAC & gen'l appliance repair) than for this particular company.

I don't know how to put this but let me try. I'm not really happy with this service industry as a whole. Their pricing on parts and labor is so bloated it is not a wonder that more people are learning to do the work themselves. I have, as well.  This company installed 2 Aprilaire WH humidifiers for my 2 separate furnaces in 2002. I do yearly maintenance on the systems. Last year I noticed one of my units was not not working. I ordered a new electrical cord (the old one was frayed after the unit fell off the furnace duct) and I replaced it myself, but this was apparently not the problem. This year I noticed the other unit was not working and decided that an $80 diagnosis fee was reasonable since I had 2 units on the fritz. I was able to get the tech to come out the same day I called. He found one unit had a dead blower fan. The other unit's fan was not coming on for one or 2 reasons. Either the motor fan was stuck against the motor housing which apparently had suffered  a large crack after the unit fell, or the connector was not making contact with the connectee. The face of these units (the heavy part) is held on by plastic snaps (this needs to be rethought). He got this one going by jiggling the blower fan/housing &/or aligning the connection better, though it was a temp fix and I was advised to secure the unit to the furnace vent as the vibration of the  misaligned fan might jiggle it loose. After he left, I used some bungee cords to do this.  I was presented with a bill that came to about $162 and left with one still dead unit, and another that would need to be repaired further. I had an Angies list coupon that gave me a 10% discount, but not the $16 I expected, but $7 as it only applied to one of the charges (not the diagnosis fee).   I asked 2 questions. Why the extra charge $68, and what would it cost to fix the 2 units. The extra charge was because in addition to diagnosis, he had fixed one unit.  To fix the units correctly he would have to order the parts and then come back @ $150/hr labor + parts. I asked why, since I had told the co. what might be wrong with the units, they did not bring parts up front. I asked him if there would be a 'truck charge' if he came back and he said no. It's probably included in the $150/hr labor charge. I know the tech doesn't get this money, but who can afford to spend that kind of money for service? I found I could buy a  brand new unit for $197 (delivered). I could replace one unit (easy) and use the motor from the replaced unit to fix the other (and have some extra parts for future repairs). I could also order just the parts for about $125. I would be interested to know what these parts would cost me through the HVAC dealer. I found this same unit on the web for about $400. I gladly paid for the diagnosis (grudgingly for the 'fix'), but to have them repair the units would make no sense economically. I had a discussion with a Co. rep and suggested they bring parts with them (@ these prices). She thought that had some merit. I ordered a complete new unit from a Co. on the web and will do the repair myself. My impression is that though they sell these units, they are not really set up to repair them efficiently, and the way they operate ends up costing  more $$ for the consumer. Something's got to change or we will all become HVAC DIY'ers...
p.s monkeying with the drain tubes on these units left me with burn marks on both forearms (furnace hot air pipe is nearby). Real men expect this (real men are stupid) ..lol. Pictures upon request.  I have medical insurance...Real men don't go to Dr.s... Cheers"
