"The men from AFS came and were able to raise the steps back to the level they were when I built the house thirteen years ago. They also raised a section of the front walk and the driveway. They arrived on time and the whole job was completed in about two hours. They were very professional and cleaned up the area very well before they left."

"The man who did my foundation repair (removed rotted timber from under front door and installed new rot proof wood, then added concrete facing) was competent and friendly. He insured that the job was long lasting and secure. The front porch had sunken over time. His concrete facing was installed in such a way that future leveling of the porch will be difficult."

"Jim and Rhonda from A-1 Concrete were awesome to work with.  They were quick to respond and come out to give me an estimate.  I got on their schedule the same day as they were booked for several weeks.  They were great to communicate and let me know when they could come and do the work.  They arrived on schedule and were quick to set up and get started.  Watching the process was really amazing and I learned a lot from talking to them during the job.  They've been doing this a long time and their confidence put me at ease.  I was 100% satisfied with the work they did and my wife and I both really enjoyed talking with them and getting to know them.  They are wonderful folks.  I've already called about another job and I have recommended them to several friends. <br />"

"Bracken always had a good name here. I didn't know that he had sold out and sold his name to a different company. These people didn't do as good a job as Bracken. They got the driveway to where it drained everywhere. I want that smooth texture whenever my feet will walk out on my driveway. I did mention that to him and he said that that is what they use. Bracken was the first owner. I can't believe he sold his name and company to these people. I expected their price to be a little bit higher than everybody else. I think I tried 2 others. I expected to pay more because I knew what Bracken did for years because my dad was a construction worker, and I knew that Bracken Paving was like the bomb. I get what I pay for. They responded good. Maybe they'll come back and redo it. They said that some customers have had them do it all over again."

"Ultimately, he did an excellent job. He responded promptly to my inquiry and got me a price the next day. He estimated the job would take one day and it took two days. Not a problem. The only lapse in professionalism that I saw was leaving materials on the site for several days instead of cleaning everything up immediately."

"Expert House Movers brought a crew of 6-8 & came in late August 2013 to start the process of raising & moving the house.  My husband had done all the prep work of disconnecting the utilities & removing the furnace, etc. They dug access ramps to the old foundation/basement with bobcats.  They poked good sized holes around the foundation so they could put in steel beams and jack up the house.  Our foundation was from 1917 & built from old creek gravel cement, so it was pretty tough.  It took three & half days to jack the house & move it over the driveway.  It seemed really fast to me.  The only thing to fall in the house was a picture off the piano.  We still had access to the house through a tall ladder to get clothes, etc. that we needed. <br /> We took over the process of arranging excavation, concrete pouring, and carpenters with more local contractors.  Expert does have concrete people & others they use in the St Louis area that know exactly the requirements needed for the new foundation. <br /> After the basement was poured & cured (curing takes about 3-4 weeks), Expert returned in October 2013 to move & set the house.  They had been in contact with the concrete man for specifications, but there were no slots for the beams when setting the house down.  A concrete worker had to come & cut those slots.  We had a carpenter on hand to finish the sill installment & make sure the sills for the permanent beams was correct & set the support posts in the basement.  We also had a friend's tractor help Expert's bobcat pull the house back over the foundation.  While all this was going on, Expert was jacking and moving supports & placing slider beams & raising & lowering the house.  The process was complete in about 2 1/2 days with care & precision.  Some of the cracks in our house even disappeared.  Great job guys. <br /> Our carpenters returned to build a staircase & some other requirements.  We are working on re-connecting utilities & returning the furnace, water heater, etc. to the new basement.  We plan to move back into the house in the first week or so in November 2013.  It's been a long process, but well worth it.  Made possible by Expert House Movers! <br />"

FAQs for concrete injection leveling mudjacking projects in Johnson City, TN

Mudjacking and foam jacking differ significantly in both materials and methods. Mudjacking uses a cement-based slurry to fill voids beneath a slab, while foam jacking uses expanding polyurethane foam delivered under high pressure to achieve superior structural support. This material distinction enhances load-bearing strength and overall stability in your repair.

Mudjacking takes between one and three days to dry completely. During this time, it's important to avoid putting weight on the slab until it's fully cured. The drying time depends on the project size and environmental conditions. In contrast, polyurethane foam used in foam jacking can cure in as little as one hour.

No, mudjacking is not a permanent fix for sinking concrete. While it effectively lifts the slab and can last five to 10 years, it doesn't address underlying soil issues that may cause future sinking. For a more permanent solution, you might consider foam jacking or complete slab replacement, which can address deeper structural problems.
