"Can't say enough nice things about Dan and Pete. Interviewed a bunch of companies to install an HVAC system and hot water heater into my new home and Yeager's was the most responsive, most professional, most detailed and had the best quote. They are honest, patient, hard working guys who know what they are doing and care about their customers. Their work is meticulous and I would recommend them in a heartbeat."

"They did an excellent job. It was a big fiasco. They helped me out and I appreciated it. It was kind of like a two step process. They came in one day to assess it, which didn't take more than an hour and a total of an hour to install the part once it was in. There was a couple of days in between to get the part ordered. They were pretty swift to get it installed once the part was in because they knew how cold it was. I had no complaints. The guy showed up, he was very clean cut and friendly. They told me when they would be here and they nailed it."

"Mr. Paros and his son arrived and assessed what needed to be done. They worked together to run the waterline from the freezer, through the floor to the waterline in the basement. Mr. Paros then answered the questions and concerns I had about turning off the gas to a heater in the basement and told me how to relight the pilot light."

"First, the price quoted on the phone to us the day before service was not the price we had to pay after the water heater was installed. It was $200. MORE. Then, 2 days after installation, we noticed water on the basement floor around the base of the heater. We called, someone came out the next day and said the new piping was incorrectly installed. He fixed it (hopefully). This expensive water heater also makes a louder, rattling noise when it is heating up water, compared to our older model, the same brand, Bradford White. We can only hope this water heater lasts."

"I?ve had them since I moved in here for my air conditioning and heating system. I?ve been here for 2 ? years. The only problem was them diagnosing the exact problem, it took them 4 or 5 times that they came out before they figured out what was wrong. I have a contract with them, so it basically didn?t cost me anything even if they came 10 times. They came right away and they were concerned about trying to figure out what was wrong. It was an intermittent problem, so that was the reason they couldn?t figure it out completely. With the service contract, it didn?t really cost me anything more."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Johnstown, PA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
