"Do Yourself a favor and look elsewhere for your water softener needs. I had one of their systems installed over a year ago with the understanding that it had a lifetime warranty, the water softener has not worked properly since it was installed and getting any type of help from Big Power Water has been painstaking! I have been stood up three times and I have yet to get them to come out and fix the problem. One of the primary reasons I bought the water softener is because I live in the Hill Country in Texas and its well known for its hard water. I have a young daughter and a Wife that suffer from Exzema as well as to protect our appliances. Since this system has been installed my wife and daughter continue to still have issues with their exzema and I have had to replace two shower heads as well as a dishwasher! This system hasn't used a full bag of salt in over a year and the salt tank holds water to the point of almost full. Of course that is only part of the issues I have had with this system, it began with leaks and then settings and now this! It is absolutely useless and I believe the only other thing worse than the water softener is the customer service that is provided by Big Power Water! So.....we are a hardworking family that is not well off and we are now 2400.00 dollars out for a softener that I am starting to believe will never work right, that is if I can ever even get Big Power Water to come out and try to fix it! I have asked, no, begged them to please take their softener back and give me a refund for the equipment due to the continued issues and complete lack of trust in the equipment. All efforts to return have been shunned & dismissed! This company is a SHAM, they have already stole 2400.00 from us, please look elsewhere such as Culligan or Kinetico for your water softener needs, NOT Big Power Water! BTW, I have never done it before but if I could have left a 0 star rating for this company I would have! update 4/22/18 Big Power Water did return and replace the head on the Softener unit with a new updated version. The system seems to be working correctly now and we have not had any additional issues. It was unfortunate that we needed to go through the process and that it took so long but in the end it looks like they did correct the issues and that we are not getting the benefits of the system. Thank You Big Power Water for coming out and finding a solution to our system issues."

"My hot water heater started leaking water late on a Sunday evening - always a great time to need repair services. The valve above the heater to turn off the water did not work (fine time to find that out) and I do not possess a "key" that allows me to turn off the water from the street (I do now). But every cloud has its silver lining, and for me that silver lining was finding Carl of Carl's Handyman company.
My home is one-level (no basement) and the water heater is set in a hallway closet between the guest bathroom and front bedroom. By midnight Sunday I accepted the fact that the water was going to keep flowing and that the carpeting in the hallway and front bedroom, now saturated, was ruined, and most likely the living room carpet was going to be as well since water was working it's way in that direction. I had been considering joining Angie's List for several months, so as the water flowed, I grabbed my laptop, joined Angie's List, and searched for someone who could come as soon as possible to replace the water heater. It was not just Carl's "A" rating that caught my attention, but also how many reviews he had received with that rating (I think at the time it was 73, far exceeding any other company's). He also listed his hours as starting at 6am.
I called him Monday morning at about 6:30am and he himself answered the phone, which I appreciated so that I wasn't left with having to wait for someone to give him the message and then wait for him to call me back. I was stressed enough. Although he already had scheduled doing work for another customer first thing that morning, Carl offered to call that customer and explain that he had someone with an emergency (which was me) and ask if he could reschedule that job for later in the day. I appreciated that he was trying to take care of my emergency but not at the expense of another customer to whom he had already made a commitment. Fortunately, the other customer was generous enough to agree and Carl had his team at my house by 8:45am. They quickly turned off the water and started on the removal of the water heater. Carl was there shortly after his team and we discussed what type of water heater I wanted them to install. We decided to install a 50 gallon (my previous one was only 40 gallons), which meant that they had to restructure the gas and water connections, but also they would need to remove the door frame in order to fit the larger tank. They carefully removed the trim and then replaced it without any damage after the new heater was installed. They replaced the gate value I had above the water tank that didn't work and, at my request, also installed a secondary ball value - I wasn't going to take any chances.  They were willing to address vacuuming up the water but the fire and water restoration company was on it's way so they didn't need to do that. What they did do, however, was make sure that they had thoroughly cleaned up after their work, carefully replaced the door frame, and answered my many questions about flooring and other miscellaneous questions I had about home updates I was considering. An added bonus was that seeing the hinges on my front storm door had been put on backwards (which is why it was always difficult to open the door completely to bring anything large in through the front door without first removing the pneumatic screen door closer), Matt, one of the men of Carl's team, removed and installed the hinges as they should have been in the first place. They also picked up a "key" for me at Home Depot when they were getting the tank and supplies they needed so that I would never again not be able to turn off the water to my house in an emergency. When the work was completed, Carl immediately provided me with an electronic invoice, which he e-mailed to me before he left my home. All in all, it took about 5 hours from beginning to end.
I have since used Carl's Handyman company to fix a leak that started in my master bedroom shower, and again, their response was swift and the problem was fixed at a reasonable rate ($105). Both values in the handles were replaced and it took about an hour and a half, which included the time it took to go to Home Depot to buy replacement parts.
I will not hesitate to contact Carl for any of my home repairs as well as any remodeling that I am considering doing. Primarily it will involve painting, but I have wanted to update my master bath and Seth, Carl's son-in-law who had also helped with the water heater replacement, gave me some fantastic ideas that I hadn't even considered when he came to fix the shower leak. Carl and his team treated me with dignity and respect, charged me a fair price, and responded quickly to my emergency. I am so grateful to have found Carl's company as a result of using Angie's List. He is now listed in my phone contacts as the one to call when I need home repair help. He has another loyal customer.

"Power Jack had already installed 9 piers on one end of our house (Sep 2006) and did a very nice job. They were professional, prompt, and they cleaned up their mess. They also replaced the shrubbery so it looked as if nothing ever happened. When we noticed new cracks in walls, we called them back because the piers are covered under a lifetime warranty. They came out when they said they would and reinspected. They said the cracks were coming from other portions of the house that had not yet been leveled so we had them place piers all the way around the house. Again, they were prompt and professional. I am comfortable that if we have future problems they will come out to fix them at no charge. The only complaint I have is that the second crew did not do as good a job with the shrubbery. I lost several of my large shrubs and they left very large mounds of dirt where the piers were installed. Also, when they removed the dirt, they did not segregate the mulch from the dirt so when they filled the holes back in, it was all mixed together. When I asked about the large mounds of dirt before they left, they said it would settle. It has been one year since the work was done and it has not settled at all. I would use them again but I would be a lot more diligent about ensuring they care for the shrubs and gardens around the house when they are done."
