"Clean and efficient quote process. Timely service and professional installation of water heater. Could have been clearer on the tank description and warranty information. Has to negotiate for a higher end tank than quoted due to lack of an explanation of tank. Otherwise, not a bad experience."

"FYI: I hired KC Flow Heroes for gas pipe work (Angie?s List didn?t have that option). The technicians were polite, but the overall experience was a disaster. They replaced a leaking iron gas pipe with CSST late Friday night without pressure testing. When the gas company returned, the new line was leaking. Over two days, KCFH came out four times, tightening fittings and replacing CSST. I was told pressure testing wasn?t needed, then learned their techs don?t carry testing equipment; I had to supply my own gauge and compressor. Despite this, major leaks remained. I was without heat for over 48 hours in freezing weather. Another company fixed it in one visit but found my stove?s gas regulator damaged from over-tightening. KCFH denied responsibility so I?m facing an $800 stove repair. Do NOT hire them for gas work."

"Dishonest.. companies like this is who you want to stay away from. Don’t use them. Tech came and tried to charge me 965 dollars for minor toilet leak. To buy the part which is a gasket and some screws it would cost me 965. If I were to replace the entire toilet it would cost me 1500.00! The kohler genuine part cost is 7.00 on Amazon and Home Depot. So even if they had 100% markup on the it should have cost 14-15 dollars for the part. That means they wanted to charge 950+ dollars in labor. Lowe’s sells a brand new kohler toilet for 199.99 and will professionally install it for 250.00! This company is dishonest. Don’t use them."

FAQs for drain clog or blockage clearing projects in Kansas City, MO

Snaking a simple clog near a tub, toilet, or sink often takes about five minutes. Deeper blockages along the main line can stretch the job to a few hours because the pro must feed extra cable and may need a camera to confirm the pipe is clear. Either way, specialized tools help pros work quickly and keep your drains running for the long haul.

Aggressive snaking can scratch pipes, push debris deeper, or even crack older lines. That risk is low with an experienced plumber who matches the cable size to the pipe and eases the snake through bends instead of forcing it. If you’re unsure of your technique—or your pipes are already fragile—calling a licensed pro is the safest, and often cheapest, move.

Start with simple barriers: mesh screens on every tub, shower, and sink keep hair, food bits, and jewelry out of the pipes. Skip harsh chemicals; a monthly flush with hot (not boiling) water clears light buildup without damaging plastic lines. Finally, practice smart disposal—no grease, wipes, or kitty litter down the drain—and schedule routine cleanings if you have older plumbing.

Roto‑Rooter typically charges a flat $160 to $450 for standard snaking, which may include a quick sewer inspection and basic clean‑out. Exact pricing depends on the clog’s location and complexity. Repairs or part replacements fall outside that flat fee, so ask for a line‑item estimate if your tech spots broken pipe sections or recommends additional work.

Most liquid cleaners rely on caustic chemicals that eat through hair and grime—but they also erode metal and even some plastics over time. Repeated use strips protective pipe coatings and can leave you with leaks or premature failures. If hot water or a plunger doesn’t help, call a plumber for mechanical removal instead of pouring more chemicals down the line.
