Small jobs welcome

"Nelson Masonry repaired the entry steps to our townhome. This project involved replacing the brick siding of the steps which had pulled away from the steps and resecuring the steps to the exterior wall. The project was completed to high professional standards and exceeded our expectation. I would recommend Nelson Masonry to anyone who has a complex or difficult project. They are pros who will deliver the completed project on budget and on schedule."

"Mr. Handyman of Canton and Woodstock has provided me with literally thousands of dollars of work over the last couple of months, ranging from cabinet building/repairing, painting, plumbing (removing and installing new vanities in bathrooms), drywall repair, installing new light fixtures, carpentry work (cutting and installing wainscoting/judges panels), and even installing suspended storage racks in my garage. The quality of their work is outstanding, with the form, fit and finish at the highest level. For that reason, I keep going back to them over and over again to complete my next list of "honey-do" projects. I am particularly impressed with Rick Grooms, whose skills and experience across all the "trades" are at the craftsman level. Moreover, Rick is a pleasure to work with in that he has a very pleasant and warm personality, a professional attitude, and a customer-focused desire to please his clients. I would very strongly recommend Mr. Handyman of Canton and Woodstock!"

"Jair and his team were simply amazing. I hired VM Southern Construction to put down brick over an existing concrete covered patio. After receiving multiple bids, it was a clear choice. I knew immediately when he arrived at my home. It was apparent he had it together, knew what he was doing, listened, gave advice, and was just generally a good guy. Instinct! And it paid off. He/crew showed up on-time/when they said they would. The quality of work is AMAZING. My wife and I commented on how much better the patio looks than the brick work on the house itself - and the house is brand new. The crew took their time to do it right. They are good at their craft! And they cleaned up perfectly when they were done. I 1000% will be hiring them again for additional projects. No question!"

FAQs for brick or stone siding: repair or partially replace projects in Kennesaw, GA

Stone veneer isn’t a weekend DIY. Even lightweight faux panels are heavy and must be anchored, flashed, and sealed to keep water out. Missteps can lead to cracked stone, leaks, or injuries. A licensed siding contractor arrives with scaffolding, masonry tools, and the know-how to set each piece safely and neatly, giving you a long-lasting, professional finish.

Stone veneer durability is robust when expert installation and proper maintenance are employed. When installed with precision, regularly cleaned, and sealed as required, stone veneer maintains its integrity for 25 to 75 years. Inadequate installation, however, leads to water intrusion and structural issues that compromise its longevity. Consistent upkeep and adherence to quality installation standards ensure decades of reliable performance.

Covering the entire exterior of a home with stone veneer is feasible but comes with a significant cost increase. Full coverage escalates both material and labor expenses due to the additional square footage required. Many homeowners reduce costs by applying stone veneer selectively—such as around entries, foundations, or architectural accents—while still achieving an upscale appearance and enhancing overall curb appeal.

Installing stone veneer over brick or stucco is entirely possible when the underlying surface is stable and properly prepared. The substrate must be clean, dry, and free of any loose material to support a secure application. Additionally, any areas of flaking stucco or deteriorated mortar must be patched and allowed to cure fully before a professional applies the new veneer, ensuring lasting durability.

Stone veneer siding offers a substantial cost advantage compared to full-thickness natural stone. It costs 25% of the price of natural stone because it is manufactured from concrete and lightweight aggregates. This method delivers the genuine appearance of stone while featuring a thinner profile that simplifies shipping, accelerates installation, and consistently reduces material expenses.

For a 250 square foot exterior area, stone siding installation costs range from $9,800 to $18,000, while installing stone veneer costs between $5,000 and $6,000. This clear cost breakdown demonstrates the significant savings achieved with stone veneer, which uses a lighter construction method that minimizes both material and labor expenses. Homeowners benefit from these lower costs while still attaining the attractive look of natural stone.
