"We decided this spring to finally replace the 1968 vintage furnace in our house to take advantage of federal tax credits and to prevent an unplanned furnace failure in some future dead of winter. The original furnace/AC unit was wheezy, inefficient, improperly installed, and potentially dangerous (every contracter who looked at it suggested that we keep the batteries in the CO detector fresh). We chose Aire Serv after some research about what products were most reliable, 3 quotes, and some recommendations from friends. We bought our system (ultra-high efficiency Amana furnace and AC unit, new water heater) from Lowell, who was pleasant, efficient, responsive, and polite. Travis and Kevin were the technicians who installed the units--installation went only slightly over their original time estimate, and both technicians were polite and professional. Their work areas were left very clean. Since installation, we've been very happy with the way the units have functioned--quieter and much more effective than the old ones. We've had two 'glitches' with them since installation. In the first case, the water heater didn't work one morning. A technician came out that day, found a loose connection (plug not in all the way) that fixed things immediately. On the second occasion, the air conditioning went out. Again, a technician came out the same day (in the evening, no less--guy looked tired, but didn't bag the call until the next day!), found the problem (AC overfilled), fixed it, then hung around for an hour to make sure it continued to work. Overall, we've been very pleased with the quality of product and service we received through Aire Serv--they weren't the least expensive company we talked to, but they did their job meticulously and have been very attentive since installation."

He diagnosed the problem as a defective pressure switch. He went and got a new one, returned and installed it. The pump is working. "Valerie and Bob called ahead to let me know they were coming. They showed up on time at around 8:20am and got right to work. Valerie spent nearly the entire morning outside on the roof (in freezing cold weather) upgrading our mast, power-meter, meter-socket and installing the 30amp outlet for the generator. Bob worked in the basement removing the old panel and getting the connections labeled. He then mounted the new box and together they got the new wires routed through the wall of the house and sealed the openings. They were professional and worked hard to get the job done. Bob left a little earlier and Val stayed until after 5:00pm to make sure it was completed.

They were very clear about what needed to be done, and well informed of local and state requirements for my area. Pricing was a little higher than I expected, but not unreasonably so, and certainly not as much as some of the quotes I received. And after seeing the work involved, I would chalk it up to market forces/demand.

"Completely removed that root in the drain. Water is flowing again. Great job! However following up on preventative maintenance, the tech was not very knowledgeable. Said to use “ bioclean” which I am glad a searched and found it will not work. His other suggestion of RootX is the correct chemical. In addition, I personally feel $800 is a bit high to clear the roots in less than 2hrs, including the camera inspection."
