"A+ from start to finish. I have a newer build that is just over 4 years old and the deck had untreated wood used that rotted out an 8x8 support post and several of the joists. Clarence, the owner quickly responded and was out the following day to take a look at the project. He was very kind and honest and said he would have an estimate within 2 days. He had his deck builder out the next day, the estimate (very reasonable) the following day and said they could start the project the same week. You quickly learn in the OBX that getting an estimate for a project this time of year is a lengthy process let alone getting the work scheduled. I reached out to 4 vendors (including Gibbs), and 2 never responded and one was way over-priced. If the project isn't large enough, the not so great contractors will lie and tell you they'll get you an estimate and never respond. THANK YOU to Gibbs Daughters and Clarence for delivering a new beautiful deck with a very reasonable price and fabulous service. Watching your craftsmen work as they did was very cool. They are quite skilled and great at their trade. I will now only reach out to you for any work that is needed on my home. Thank you so very much!"

"The tile work was using travertine natural stone with a lot of high end detail. The price shown was labor only I provided all of the materials as I wanted a higher quality of stone than could be purchased in the Outer Banks. Michael did an outstanding job. In fact my husband commented that he had never seen such perfect grouting on a listello before. He removed all of the old stuff and no damage to the house although there was a lot of tile dusts use to it being natural stone. My only issue was that the job took longer than either he or I anticipated. I wish I had given him a absolute need by finish date before starting. "My interactions with David and Hannah were first rate. While David replaced the two decks at our Kitty Hawk cottage, almost all of my communications and interactions with the David and Hannah were conducted via telephone and email. The proposal process (conducted primarily with Hannah) took a little time as I decided between wood and Trex, colors, railings, etc. I decided on Trex. Construction seemed to go quickly and smoothly, and David sent photographs of his progress on a regular basis. I was and am still pleased with the decks. My wife and I subsequently talked with David about kitchen and bathrooms remodel. We have not yet reached a decision about design, and we will likely need more help with that before we are ready to proceed. We will definitely ask Surfside Construction to help us and to bid on the projects."

"Excellent quality work. Workers skilled in proper flashings, wraps, and materials for protecting buildings in the brutal Outer Banks weather environment. They take great care to get everything right while taking care to avoid damaging adjacent areas not involved in repair. They fixed rot around 7 large east facing windows; removing and reinstalling them, installing new and proper wrapping around them and flashing over top of the upper ones. Finally new trim around them replacing rotted trim and new Hardee siding and painting all to match. Excellent job. I'd recommend them highly. They prefer to work by the hour rather than fixed price and that makes great sense when the extent of damage to structures is unknown until outer layers are removed. They work very efficiently with good work crew and proper management that is attentive to working fast and thoroughly. The work site is neat and doesn't detract from adjacent beach properties. All in All I give them an A+! We'll be using them again."

"Very happy with the level of service provided. Would have been 5stars across the board, the only negative is my house and back door had cement splashed from the pouring of the cement pad. Although they tried to clean it up, my house and door still has stains and unfortunately the glass door has scratches from the removal of the cement. The team that worked on my project was very good and professional. I would recommend this company, for sure. I would also recommend putting a protective tarp up before pouring the cement pad."
