"We had a lightning strike which damaged the exterior and the interior. His team responded quickly to weather proof the damage. They followed up with window replacement, siding and roof repair, interior drywall and trim repair, painting and finish work. While they were there and doing such a good job, we had a door replaced. We discovered water damage caused by undetected leaks. This lead to a complete replacement of the cedar shake siding, window and door flashing replacement and exterior painting. All with a hurricane breathing down our necks. The work was completed in a very short window and was done at a high quality level. We are hoping to have the firm back to do other exterior work in the off season."

He was able to take our concepts and improve on them, making them better integrated to the existing house and more robust in the harsh OBX environment. He provided creative ideas for improving the end result including making up for some limitations in the orginal home construction. Permitting, construction and resulting certificate of occupancy processes all went very smoothly. "The tile work was using travertine natural stone with a lot of high end detail. The price shown was labor only I provided all of the materials as I wanted a higher quality of stone than could be purchased in the Outer Banks. Michael did an outstanding job. In fact my husband commented that he had never seen such perfect grouting on a listello before. He removed all of the old stuff and no damage to the house although there was a lot of tile dusts use to it being natural stone. My only issue was that the job took longer than either he or I anticipated. I wish I had given him a absolute need by finish date before starting. "My interactions with David and Hannah were first rate. While David replaced the two decks at our Kitty Hawk cottage, almost all of my communications and interactions with the David and Hannah were conducted via telephone and email. The proposal process (conducted primarily with Hannah) took a little time as I decided between wood and Trex, colors, railings, etc. I decided on Trex. Construction seemed to go quickly and smoothly, and David sent photographs of his progress on a regular basis. I was and am still pleased with the decks. My wife and I subsequently talked with David about kitchen and bathrooms remodel. We have not yet reached a decision about design, and we will likely need more help with that before we are ready to proceed. We will definitely ask Surfside Construction to help us and to bid on the projects."
