"A Dry Pro team came out today and installed a "crawlspace drainage system". Jonathan the team leader, came to me first thing this morning with full specifications and scaled drawings of the project. We went over everything that was to be done and verified all the locations around the house. Edwin and Taylor the other team members got to work right away. Jonathan took beginning, unprocessed and completed photos and videos. The team cleaned up the worksite beautifully. While Taylor and Edwin finished loading the truck I went over the job and viewed the photos and videos Jonathan had taken. I am very satisfied with the job and the hard work Taylor, Jonathan and Edwin did. If you have a moisture I highly recommend Dry Pro."

"They did a great job! My roof looks great! Reliable and kept me well informed about everything. They kept cost in mind and cleaned up nicely after themselves. Serge even came out late to tarp the roof until it could get repaired so that I didnâ t have any further damage to the house waiting for the roof. They were very nice to work with. Great people. I canâ t say enough good things about them!"

"TERRIBLE. RIPPED OFF !! Was supposed to replace all rotted wood, and raise all floors to level. The work will likely not pass code and they did not pull permits."

"Did the job, but at a high price. And I had to do prep work before and after the actual job, andI even had to do the cleanup. I won't use them again. They work was okay for what they did but the rest wasn't."

"The work crew's foreman Aaron was very professional and extremely knowledgeable. His crewmembers Rusty, Otis, and Dizzy, all worked very hard and efficiently 2 remove the old and unnecessary insulation and Black netting that was causing moisture build up in my crawlspace. They removed all the debris, cleaned up the work area, and left my crawlspace looking beautiful , and moisture free! I would highly recommend '58 Foundation! Their prices also beat their competitors by thousands of dollars! I am very satisfied with the work ethic of this Company!"

FAQs for sump pump or interior foundation drains installation projects in Kings Mountain, NC

Most residential pumps draw approximately 1,300 to 2,900 watts when they first start, then settle at roughly 800 to 1,050 watts during normal operation. The exact number depends on the motor’s horsepower and how often the float switch tells the pump to run. Even at the high end, the electricity cost is minor compared with the expense of cleaning up a flooded basement.

Grab a ruler and an empty 18‑inch‑wide pit. During a steady rain, time how much the water rises in one minute. Multiply that depth (in inches) by 60 to calculate gallons per hour, then add 50% for safety. If the result tops 2,100 gallons per hour—about 35 gallons a minute—you’ll need a 3/4‑horsepower unit. Anything lower, and a 1/3- or 1/2-horsepower pump should do the trick.

Loud rattling, constant cycling, or shuddering vibrations are the pump’s way of telling you it’s on its last legs. Musty smells, higher electric bills, and visible rust are other red flags. If the unit is 10 years old or older and exhibits any of these symptoms, replace it before the next heavy rain turns your basement into a wading pool.

You don’t have to hire a licensed plumber, but you should still bring in someone who installs sump pumps for a living—whether that’s a plumber, basement‑waterproofing specialist, or experienced handyman. They know the local codes, can wire the pump safely, and will test the system before they leave. Skipping professional help might void the warranty and could leave you with a pump that fails when you need it most.

Not every basement needs a pump, but if your home sits in a floodplain, has a high water table, or has ever taken on water during a storm, a sump pump is inexpensive insurance. For basements that only struggle with condensation or the occasional damp spot, sealing cracks and improving drainage may be all that is needed.
