"I had a tankless water heater installed but needed the gas line to be dug from the other side of the house for it to be connected. The job was complicated but Luke and his crew from Mr. Rooter did a great job! I would totally hire them again for any plumbing needs. "

"They have just been Johnny-on-the-spot when I have called them with problems with the heat system. Before it had to be replaced, they came out and were extremely polite. They were on time. They explained the issues extremely well."

We are a local and family-owned business serving Knox and surrounding counties. Our company is big enough to handle all of your plumbing needs, but small enough to provide the personal service and attention to detail that you deserve.

"Our new house was built last year and this company installed the natural gas furnace, the central air conditioning, and the bonus room mini-split unit. <br /> It's the first time we've had natural gas heat and we love it; the unit works great, and the AC also works well. <br /> Right after we moved in, the bonus room mini-split gave us some trouble. Roger Newman's workers came out here multiple times to work on the problem. They eventually figured out what the cause was and made the repair. Since then we've had no further issues. <br />"

"Mountaineer found and repaired the leak in the gas tank, at a fraction of the cost of what the dealer was going to charge.  The dealer was going to charge me $90 just t look at it!  I have an older Volvo, and in the past Mountaineer has replaced the timing belt.  I had several competitive estimates, and Mountaineer was as low as the rest.  They were recommended to me, and sometimes it's difficult to find mechanics to work on foreign cars.  The only problem I have with Mountaineer is that they tend to be too busy.  They are just a small business, and it can be difficult to get an appointment."

"When our heating/cooling system broke it was so old that they no longer make parts for it. Had 2 other companies come out for estimates but wasn't sure which to use, so I decided to join Angie's List to see if either were on there. Since they weren't, I decided to call one on the list and they gave a better estimate than the other 2 guys plus were able to start the next day. When one of the previous contractors called back to see if I had decided and I told him what this company was charging, he told me that was a great deal and "go for it". They finished the job that day. I was also impressed that they noticed that the faucet next to where they were working was broken away from the wall they sealed it for me."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Kingston, TN

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
