"We were referring to Target Radon Mitigation by our inspector for our house inspection. I called Steve on Friday to set up an appointment to get the radon levels in a house we were under contract on tested. Steve was super friendly and stated he would drop the test off first thing Saturday morning and we should have the results of the test within 72 hours. That would make our results come in on Monday, Tuesday at the latest. Called on Monday, was told wait another day. Called Tuesday, was told wait another day. Our realtor and inspector called us and told us over the weekend a test was not dropped off. I called Steve and asked what was going on. He promised he dropped a test off and did not know why the results were not yet in. He called the lab on Thursday and they stated the test was never received. He called USPS and they said it was at the post office. If it was overnighted as Steve promised us it was, it should have gotten to the lab Tuesday at the latest. We ended up canceling the order completely. I am not sure if the test was ever really done, but what a headache. Steve was very rude and defensive when confronted about what was going on. After we asked Steve if he ever did the test he said we were calling him a liar and fraud. Steve called our inspector and ripped him a new one. I feel this is extremely unprofessional. Because of all of this, our inspector and realtor both refuse to use this company in the future."

While performing the initial walk through, the experienced and thoughtful professionals adapted their plan to utilize my sump pump. This was an effective strategy as it addressed the main source of radon and concealed the system in completely unfinished space. I just received my post mitigation radon results, and the system is working phenomenally. To sum it up, I was blown away by the responsiveness, thoughtfulness, and reasonableness and can't say enough positive things about this company. I don't ever post reviews, but in this circumstance I absolutely had to."

"MoldGone was somewhat hard to deal with but ultimately agreed to work on this until the air was normal and they had good reviews so I hired them. They did the first treatment and I had an air test done. It showed there was still high mold levels. I immediately asked them to return to fix it--as we had agreed. Jay argued and argued but eventually agreed to. On the day agreed, they claim they came but could not work since no one answered the door. We had already agreed I would not be there--and that both doors would be open so they could begin. Jay forgot to tell the workers AND he failed to call/e-mail me while they were there to ask me. So I am out ANOTHER $300 for the hotel and still no mold remediation. I again sent e-mails asking when they would come back. Jay admitted the communication failure was his fault but still said he would not reschedule the job. This time Jay refused to do the job--instead offering to just do "cold fogging" Next, Mike Mulieri(VP of the company) entered the picture. He assured me he would resolve the problem. Instead he made it worse. He dragged it out, argued back and forth with Angi and still refused to refund money or do a re-treatment of my place. I view MoldGone as slick, dishonest folks who try to talk their way out of any problem- but not actually remedy their mistakes. Now I'm on my way to the courthouse."

"Avoid Guardian Basement – False Promises and Poor Customer Service Two years ago, I hired Guardian Basement to fix a water issue on the front wall of my basement. Joel came out, sold me on their system, and guaranteed I would have a dry basement. We also replaced two sump pumps and had the sump well dug deeper. The main selling point was their lifetime guarantee. Fast forward two years, and I have the exact same problem. Every time there is significant rain, water rushes through the same wall. I reached out to Guardian Basement, and Joel scheduled a time to check it out. His tone was completely different this time—defensive and dismissive. Within five minutes, he claimed, “Your system is clogged.” He made this assessment without any real inspection—just by looking at the cement floor and wall. Now, here’s the catch: If you look closely at their so-called lifetime warranty, clogs are not covered. So despite spending thousands of dollars, I’m back to square one. To make matters worse, Joel was incredibly condescending and unpleasant to deal with. After this experience, I looked into their licensing with the state of Maryland and found multiple complaints against them. I am now in the process of submitting my own complaint as well. I would never recommend Guardian Basement to anyone. Save your money and go with a company that truly knows what they are doing and stands behind their work. If I could give them a negative number of stars I would."
