"Good overall service. The installer was on time and did a good job diagnosing and discussing options. No hard sales pitch. Had some problem with programing the door openers after he left, but when I called the company they were extremely helpful and walked me through it until I had them programed the way I wanted."

"Door is 35 years old. Tech arrived early, did a thorough inspection of the door and explained everything he thought should be done. Ended up with a reconditioned door that runs like new. Cost a bit more than I had hoped, but well worth the extra. 5 year parts warranty, 30 days labor. Couldn't be happier!"

"I didn't realize my garage door was down when I backed out. The door was from when my house was built in 1988. Jeff from MHGD came out as promised (meaning he was promptly on time) to look over the damages. I had called numerous companies to get quotes and most wanted to charge a minimum of $59 to $69 just to come out for the estimate but not Jeff., he did a FREE estimate. He covered a couple of options including repairing the damage which was the cheapest route but explained that with the age of the door and that the damage I did to the two lower wood panels would compromise the integrity of the door. They no longer make the kind of panels I had on the door. He then quoted me three different replacement options. I went with the full two sided metal panel insulated door. Just to check prices, I called the other companies to get an over the phone quote for a 16' x 7' door in the same three options. Jeff was under all of their quotes by more than $1,000. Jeff quoted me (basic door at $925, insulated at $1,025 and double steal .panel insulated at $1,125). Quotes from other companies for the same three options ranges from $1,700 to $2,800. Andrew, the technician that installed the door did a fantastic job installing - 3 1/2 hours, very professional and pleasant. Hauled off the old door and everything was cleaned up - (thanks Andrew). I think the reason Jeff doesn't charge for estimates is because he knows his prices beat the competition hands down. If you need any garage door service these guys will not let you down and you just can't beat the price and quality of their products and work. Thanks Mile High Garage Door Specialists."

"I called Family Garage Door on a Tuesday morning after my aging garage door opener failed. They sent over a technician by 1 pm that very same day to replace the opener with new garage door opener. I was so impressed by their professionalism, quality, and speed of service. They also quoted me a very fair price on top of their great service. Highly recommended!"

"Garage door would not open.  Called on the phone at 10:50 am. Gabe said he could be at the location between 11 -1.  Arrived at 11:45. Needed to replace springs. I asked if he could also tune it up.  Work was complete by 12:30. The door is SO quiet now!  Very pleased with everything. Thanks Gabe.

FAQs for garage door opener installation and replacement projects in Kiowa, CO

A chain-drive opener costs less, but it’s louder and needs more upkeep. If your budget allows, a belt-drive model is often the smarter long-term buy, especially for an attached garage with a bedroom above where noise matters. The decision between a chain or belt opener comes down to your budget and needs, and your garage door opener installer can help you choose an option that best suits you.

Choosing the right horsepower for your garage door opener is crucial for safe and efficient performance. Your garage door’s design and material determine the required horsepower. A single-car garage demands a half horsepower rating, while a two-car garage requires a rating between three-fourths and 1.25 horsepower. Selecting the proper power level ensures optimum performance and durability over the life of the opener.

Plan on a quick garage door tune-up once or twice a year. Tighten the chain or belt, lubricate moving parts, test the safety sensors, and swap out weak batteries in the remotes or backup unit. A few dollars in lubricant and 30 minutes of work can fend off costly repairs, keep the door running smoothly, and help the opener hit its full life expectancy.
